Registration of Teams
1. The event shall be a team competition. Each school is allowed to send ONE representative team. The number of participants per team is three. 2. Registration and indemnity forms are on a first come, first served basis and must reach us by 24th October 2008. We reserve the rights to disqualify the team.

4. The team is allowed to make changes to their list of players before commencement of the competition. Any such changes are to be made known to the Tournament 30 minutes prior to commencement of the Competition.

Rules and Regulations

Start Time
1. Each team shall report at the Registration Booth at Marina Barrage to confirm his team’s participation and the number of participants before 5:00pm on Saturday, 1st November 08.

2. The 1-hour competition shall commence at 5:30pm and end at 6.30pm. All participants are to be seated at their tables by 5.30pm sharp.

Things you need to know of the Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge
1. Only one design of jigsaw puzzle (150 pieces) will be used. The allocation of the competition table for the team will be by ballot. Requests to change the table allocated will not be entertained. 2. A jigsaw puzzle set (bearing the same number as that of the allocated table) will be placed on each table. 3. Participants are not allowed to bring in/use any other working board other than the one given by the Organiser. They are allowed to open their jigsaw puzzle set only when the Organiser announces the start of the event. 4. No observers are allowed to assist nor should participating teams seek the assistance from people outside of their said team. 5. All participants are required to immediately stop piecing the puzzle when the Organiser announces the end of the competition. The teams should put their unassembled pieces and the smaller blocks (if any) into the jigsaw puzzle box, close it and leave the table.

Determination of Results
1. Prizes will be awarded according to the fastest time taken to complete the puzzle. As soon as a team completes the puzzle, the team leader should immediately alert the Organiser by raising his/her hand.

2. For the purpose of determining the number of assembled pieces (ie the largest single block) on the working board, the Organiser shall invite the team members by table number order to witness the counting of their assembled pieces. If after three calls, the team members fail to show up, the Organiser shall proceed with the counting notwithstanding their absence. 3. In the event that no team is able to complete the puzzle within the stipulated duration, the teams will be judged according to the single largest block assembled. All the smaller individual blocks will be ignored. The team with the most number of assembled pieces in a single block shall be declared the winner, the team with the 2nd highest number of assembled pieces as 2nd, and so on. 4. In the case of a tie, the winning teams shall be determined by ballot.

Prizes
The presentation of prizes shall be conducted at around 6.50pm (time subjected to changes). 1st $ 400 cash 2nd $ 300 cash 3rd $ 200 cash

Competition Results
The scores of all participating teams shall be displayed at the competition site upon tabulation of results. Results will also be posted on official event website within three working days.

Terms and conditions
By participating in the Clean and Green Singapore 2009 Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge (the “Competition”) organized by the National Environment Agency (“NEA”), you unconditionally agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions 1. NEA shall decide all matters relating to the conduct of this Competition and the interpretation of the rules as well as all matters not mentioned in these rules. The decision of the NEA will be final. No appeals or correspondence on the subject will be entertained. NEA reserves the right to disqualify any team that fails to comply with the rules of this competition. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. Any prize unclaimed during the prize presentation shall be donated to a registered charity to be determined at NEA’s sole discretion. NEA reserves the right to draw reserve winners to substitute any winning team subsequently found to be disqualified. NEA reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change the venue, date and/or time of the competition at its discretion due to inclement weather, facility problem or any other situation deemed as appropriate. NEA, its servants and/or agents shall not be responsible for any consequences including but not limited to loss of life, injury to person and/or damage to property arising from or in connection with the Competition and/or redemption or use of the prize. Participants agree to allow NEA and their representatives to contact them via email or phone to update them on the race details and follow up communications on matters related to the Competition. Participants agree to waive all claims of action against the National Environment Agency arising out of their voluntary participation in the event and hereby release, hold harmless, and discharge the NEA from all liability in connection therewith NEA, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their respective officers, directors, and employees shall not be eligible to participate in this competition.

Each winner consents to the public disclosure of his/her name, photographs and videos, as the case may be, for publicity purposes or otherwise participate in the publicity activities of NEA in relation to the Competition and to the use of any data provided by such winner for any future publicity effort by NEA, without any payment or compensation thereof. 11. Winners shall bear all costs associated with the participation of the Competition, the claiming and collection of the prizes from NEA. 12. Notwithstanding anything in these Terms and Conditions, NEA reserves the right at any time in its absolute discretion to determine and/or amend, by addition to, subtraction from or variation of, these Terms and Conditions without prior notification, including but not limited to the eligibility terms and criteria, and all participants to this Competition shall be bound by these amendments. Any changes will be posted on the official Clean and Green Singapore Website (http://www.cgs.sg). 13. In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Competition, the Terms and Conditions, and all its subsequent variations, the Terms and Conditions posted on the official Clean and Green Singapore Website (http://www.cgs.sg) shall prevail.
