Dear Midland Sports Organization,
The Midland Amateur Sports Capital Committee (MASCC) is organizing the Midland Sports
Festival. The Midland Sports Festival will be held on July 22nd – July 25th, 2010. The Midland
Sports Festival is a multi-sport event utilizing already established sports groups in Midland. We
would like to invite your organization to participate.
Each participating organization will organize and host their own event (competition,
tournament, camp, etc) during the specified time frame. Your organization will be responsible
for registration, event planning, facilities and award ceremonies — Midland Sports Festival
medals will be available for first (gold), second (silver) and third (bronze).
Benefits from participating for your organization include:
Profits from athlete registration fees and event admission sales, if applicable
Club membership growth through event participation or clinics
Our committee to solicit business sponsors – pooling their money with your registration fee
into marketing dollars to reach more local, state, and regional athletes and audiences
Showcase your organization or sport
Offer your participants and their families community festival entertainment and social
events (cover charges may apply)
Showcase Midland's sports, entertainment and hospitality venues for awareness and
community economic growth – this may impact your group's future event bids
There is a $250 registration fee for participating organizations to be used for advertising and
seed money for festival events. We are also asking a representative from your organization to
serve on the Midland Sports Festival Committee.
Midland has some of the best sporting venues in the state. This is a great way to showcase
your venue as well as the entertainment venues and businesses in Midland. The businesses
and residents of our community have and continue to be supportive of the sports organizations
in town and will benefit from having such an event.
The MASCC is a non-profit organization comprised of representatives from local sports groups,
school administrators, media and facility operators. Its programs include the annual Midland
County Sports Hall of Fame Banquet — which is displayed at the Midland Civic Arena, monthly
Sports Booster Luncheons, sportsmanship lecture and posters, Stanton-Marsh Scholarship,
event planning and management assistance.
Should your organization be interested in being a part of the inaugural Midland Sports Festival,
please return the attached participation agreement by December 1, 2009 with your $250
registration fee. If you are interested but cannot commit this year; please consider returning the
enclosed information so that we can keep in touch with you. We are happy to answer any
questions you may have.
