    Cruise Procedures:
I   The cruiser for this project was Rick Shepherd. The fieldwork took place December8 and
    11,2006.

I   The timber on the subjectproperty was cruisedusing a variable plot cruising system. A
    single basal areafactor (BAF) of 40.00 was used throughout the types cruised. Cruise strips

I   were oriented in an east-westdirection and were placed every 330 feet throughout the types
    cruised. Cruise plots were systematicallyplaced every 132 feet along thesestrips.


I   Only currently merchantableconifer treeswere cruised. Hardwoods trees were not cruised
    becauseof their breakeven-at-best  stumpagevalue (hardwood log value is less than or equal
    to the cost to extract the hardwood).

I   All plots were cruised. On eachplot, eachtree was measuredfor diameter and merchantable
    height. The treeswere then segmented    into individual logs, gradedand volume deductions

I   for defect  taken as needed. The primary log lengthsused for Douglas-fir and grand fir trees
    were 34,26 and 17 feet (westsidescale). The primary log lengthsused for ponderosapine
    and incensecedar treeswere 32,24 and l6 feet (westsidescale). However, when most

I   practical, the logs were cruisedin two-foot multiples to maximizelutllization. The maximum
    recordedlog segmentwas 40 feet and the minimum segmentwas 16 feet. The minimum tree
    cruisedhad a 16-foot log to a five-inch top. Smaller merchantabletrees were cruisedto a

I   six-inch top and larger treeswere cruisedto 40o/o DOB-16 feet (the point on the upper
                                                       of
    stem where the outsidebark diameteris equal to 40%o the outside-barkdiameterat l6 feet
                                                           of
    above the stump). All logs were gradedusing SouthernOregon Log Scaling and Grading

I   Rules.

    Stand Description:

t   Timber Type 101 (Parcel2): This 27-acretimber type is comprised    primarily of Douglas-fir
    (DF) with smaller portions of incensecedar(IC), grand fir and old growth Douglas-fir (OG).


I   per acre. Defect is averagingapproximately4o/o the entire timber type. Within this type
                                                   for
    there is a minor amount of ponderosapine, however, no treeswere tallied during our cruise.
    We reduced cruise volumes within this type by 6 mbf to account for the scenicbuffer
I   requirements. Pleaserefer to the "ProtectedResources"portion discussedlater in this report.

    Timber Type 300 (Parcel l): This l3-acre timber type is comprisedprimarily of Douglas-fir
I   (DF) and ponderosapine (PP) with smaller portions of incensecedar(IC) and old growth
    Douglas-fir (OG). The merchantabletimber cruisedis averagingapproximately 223 mbf
    (thousand board feet) per acre. Defect is averaging approximately 9Yofor the entire timber
I   type. We reduced cruise volumes within this type by l3 mbf to accountfor the scenicbuffer
    requirements. Pleaserefer to the "ProtectedResources"portion discussedin this report.

    Protected Resources:
I   According to the Oregon Departmentof Forestry (ODF), there are currently no known
    protectedor threatenedwildlife specieseither on or in close proximity to the subject
    property. Accordingly, this appraisalassumes volume or value loss from suchprotected
                                                 no
I   resoufces.


I   United StatesInterstate5 is classified as a scenichighway accordingto the ODF. Scenic
    highways require a 300-foot buffer on each side of the highway starting at the fence line for
    InterstateHighways. However, selectivelogging can take place within the first 150 feet of

I   the buffer. Within this first 150 feet, at least 50 healthy treesof at least 11 inches diameter at
    breastheight, or that measureat least 40 squarefeet in basal area,must be left on each acre.
    Pleaserefer to the OregonStateForestPractices       Rules,Statute527.755for further details.

I   Accordingly, our cruise volumes were reducedto accountfor the trees that must be retained
    in the 150-footbuffer.


I   Logging Conditions:
    Parcel 1 (Tax Lot 300) tract topography rangesfrom 0% to 35o/o,
    between l0o/o and
                                                                     with most slopesfalling
                      l5o/o. T\e most practical way to harvestthis timber is by ground-based

I   logging.

    Parcel 2 (Tax Lot 101) tract topographyrangesfrom 15% to 70Yo,     with most slopesfalling

I   between 45o/oand 55%o.   T}iremost practical way to harvestthis timber is by cable logging.

    The cost of road building and renovation for Parcel I (Tax L,ot300) is included in the

I   appraisal. The costsof road building, renovation and rocking for Parcel 2 (Tax Lot 101) is
    included in the appraisal. Also included in the appraisalare the costs of using and
    maintaining all access roads from the subjectproperty out to a public road.

t   Appraisal Information:


I   cablelogging in Parcel2 (Tax Lot l0l). Douglas-firand grandfir logs were appraised     for
    delivery to mills in the Glendalearea. Incensecedarlogs were appraisedfor delivery to mills
    in the Roseburgarea. Ponderosa   pine logs were appraisedfor delivery to mills in the Cave
I   Junction area.

     The entire appraisalassumes compliancewith all aspectsof the Oregon ForestPracticesAct
I   (OFPA). The assumed    logging practicesaccountfor the cost of compliance with the OFPA.

    The current total net marketablevolume for Parcel I (Tax Lot 300) is 270 mbf split between
I   four species-- 127 mbf of Douglas-fir, 124 mbf of ponderosapine, 17 mbf of incensecedar
    and2 mbf of old growth Douglas-fir.

I   The current total net marketablevolume for Parcel 2 (Tax Lot 101) is 422 mbf split between
    four species- 402 mbf of Douglas-fir, 13 mbf of incensecedar,4 mbf of grand fir and 3 mbf

I   of old growth Douglas-fir.

    Detailed information can be found in the enclosedcruise reports. However, note that

I   appraised volumes are lower than the volumes shown on the cruise reports to account for the
