Scholarships Administered by International Programs
Scholarship application deadlines are the same as the published program application deadlines:

Summer 2010 deadline:            December 7, 2009
Fall 2010 deadline:              April 5, 2010
Spring 2011 deadline:            September 6, 2010

Note: application deadlines for the Robert Hurrle Social Work scholarship are different than those listed above.

It is our intention to announce scholarship winners before the confirmation deposit deadline for the
corresponding term.

Incomplete files will not be reviewed.

Unless otherwise specified, the 500 word essays should focus on why you are the ideal candidate for the
scholarship and what you expect to gain from the international experience with regard to personal growth and
academic goals. You should mention whether or not you have studied or traveled abroad before.

Multi-Term Scholarship
Award:                           $1000 Fall or Spring; $500 Summer

Availability:                    Fall, Spring or Summer; an FSU IP Program

Eligibility:                     a)   Completion of 18 or more credit hours on FSU IP Programs (not FYA students)
                                 b)   3.0 average or greater in course work at the international location(s)
                                 c)   Not available to students on the First Year Abroad Program or those who are directly enrolled
                                      in FSU-Panama

Supporting documents:            a)   FSU International Programs program application
                                 b)   FSU International Programs scholarship application



Minority Scholarship
Award:                           Two $5000 awards per semester (no summer); need and merit based

Availability:                    Fall or Spring semester (only) for any year round Study Center location (London, Florence,
                                 Valencia, Panama)

Eligibility:                     a)   Degree-seeking FSU undergraduate (not FYA students)
                                 b)   Ethnic minority, as determined by the FSU Admissions Office
                                 c)   2.5 overall GPA or better
                                 d)   Demonstrate financial need through the FSU Financial Aid Office or other sources

                                 b)   FSU International Programs scholarship application
                                 c)   500-word essay
                                 d)   Two letters of reference from faculty or university administrators

International Programs Anniversary Scholarship

Award:                      Fall Semester: up to 6 scholarships awarded, in denominations up to $7500 per student
                            based on need and applicant pool

                            Spring Semester: up to 6 scholarships awarded, in denominations up to $7500 per student
                            based on need and applicant pool

                            Summer Terms: in denominations from up to $5000 per student, based on need, applicant
                            pool and fall/spring allocation totals

Availability:               Fall, Spring, Summer for use on an IP Program

Eligibility:                a)   Degree-seeking FSU undergraduate or graduate student (not FYA students)
                            b)   3.5 overall GPA or better (undergraduate or graduate)
                            c)   Demonstrate financial need through the FSU Financial Aid Office
                            d)   No prior FSU judicial history

Supporting documents        a)   FSU International Programs program application
                            b)   FSU International Programs scholarship application
                            c)   500-word essay
                            d)   Two letters of reference from faculty or university administrators
                            e)   Resume


International Programs Achievement Scholarship
 Award:                     Total amount of up to $20,000 per year

                            Fall Semester: not to exceed a total of $10,000, in denominations up to $3000 per student

                            Spring Semester: not to exceed a total of $10,000, in denominations up to $3000 per
                            student

                            Summer Terms: not to exceed a total of $10,000, in denominations up to $3000 per student

Availability:               Fall, Spring, Summer beginning Summer 2010 for use on an IP Program

Eligibility:                a) Degree-seeking FSU undergraduate or graduate student (not current out of state FYA Fellows)
                            b) 3.8 overall GPA or better (undergraduate or graduate)
                            c) No prior FSU judicial history

Supporting documents        a) FSU International Programs program application
                            b) FSU International Programs scholarship application
                            c) 500 word essay on topic of your choice related to your desire to study abroad
                            d) Two letters of reference from faculty or university administrators
                            e) Resume



ACC Scholarship
Award:                      FSU International Programs will determine the amount of each scholarship and in which
                            terms these will be available based on the applicant pool for each academic year; this
                            scholarship is merit-based.

Availability:               To be determined by International Programs

Eligibility:                a)   FSU degree-seeking undergraduate (not FYA students)
                            b)   3.5 overall GPA
                            c)   This scholarship is not need-based
                            d)   If candidates appear equally deserving, preference may be given to those who have never
                                 traveled abroad.

Victor Carrabino Scholarship
Award:                                 Up to $3000 per student per semester (no summer); need and merit-based

Availability:                          Florence Fall or Spring semester only

Eligibility:                           a)   Non-FSU degree-seeking undergraduate student only
                                       b)   Demonstrate financial need through home school Financial Aid Office

Robert Hurrle Scholarship for Social Work Interns
Award:                                 Amount per scholarship will vary per term and per year, but it is expected to be up to $2700.

Availability:                          Fall, spring, summer

Eligibility:                           a) FSU degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student in the College of Social work
                                       b) Student has completed SW internship application process and been accepted for placement
                                       c) 3.0 or greater overall GPA
                                       d) Financial need is not a requirement, but first consideration will be given to accepted interns who
                                       have a demonstrated financial need

The College of Arts and Sciences offers study abroad awards, based on availability of funds. FSU CAS students must have completed at
