   Proposals should fit to one of the following:

• System solutions, mix of innovations, maximization of eco-
  efficiency.
• Development of novel eco-efficient environmental
  technologies (including monitoring), contributing to the
  reduction of materials use, energy needs, polluting
  emissions, etc.

                   SME Participation

• Proposals must include min. 30% funding for SMEs

• Prevention or reduction of environmental impacts,
  contributing to the optimal use of resources
• Materials recycle, sustainable buildings,

• Proposals have to demonstrate:
  – Proven track record
  – Multiple environmental effects (no Energy proposals!)
  – Replication
  – European added value (can sometimes be better
    demonstrated with a European partner)
  – Cost-effectiveness

• Who can apply?
  – All legal entities
  – Priority to SMEs
  – Eligible countries: 27 member states + Norway, Iceland,
    Liechtenstein, Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, Israel, Montenegro,
    Serbia and Turkey.

• Funding
  –   Budget: 200M €, 2008-2013, av. of 600-700,000 € per project
  –   50% of total cost, up to 3 years
  –   No cross-funding
  –   Incomes are allowed (no profits)
