Rate Reduction by Local Non-Profit to Help Meet Needs of Alzheimer’s
West Palm Beach, FL, May 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Alzheimer's Care Resource Center announced
today that it has drastically reduced the rate for its Alzheimer's dementia specific geriatric care
“As the only local non-profit organization dedicated solely to meeting the unique needs of the
Alzheimer's caregiver, we have a responsibility to not only make our services easily accessible, but to
make them affordable to as many caregivers in our community as possible,” said Elayne Forgie,
Recognizing that caregivers and families are often unable to afford the high cost of traditional geriatric
care management services, the Alzheimer's Care Resource Center has reduced their geriatric care
management fee to just $65.00 hour.
“Caregivers have spoken, and we have listened. The bottom line is that when it comes to caring for
someone with Alzheimer's disease, caregivers need an affordable way to work with a professional
geriatric care manager that has the compassion, skills and expertise to help them navigate from the time
of initial diagnosis, all the way through end of life care.”
The dementia specific Geriatric Care Navigation Services available through the Alzheimer's Care
Resource Center, provide an affordable way for family members to work with a caring, educated and
experienced local geriatric care manager, who can provide ongoing assessments of their loved one; create
appropriate, individualized care plans; monitor and direct care provided at home; provide financial, legal
and/or medical reviews; provide referral services to qualified specialists and community resources; as
well as provide dementia specific education, counseling, support, and Coaching for Caregivers services.
“Our Care Navigators consist of professional social workers, geriatric care managers, counselors or
registered nurse consultants who specialize in Alzheimer's disease and dementia and who have been very
successful in helping caregivers and families formulate, implement and monitor care for their loved one.
We are hopeful that with this rate reduction, we will be able to serve even more caregivers and families as
they cope with the huge challenges that accompany an Alzheimer's diagnosis,” Forgie said.
