Whether you are new to the area or lived here your entire life, it’s a great chance to support a local charity while meeting new people and getting to know what Houston has to offer. One thing you can count on is you will never see this town the same way again.
About Mishka Helps Mishka Helps is a newly formed non profit organization located in Houston which supports underprivileged school children. Mission: To make a positive difference in the lives of underprivileged school children by providing the support necessary to achieve their highest potential. Vision: We aim to rise above the ordinary by providing our children with the necessities to transform lives and communities. Our five year plan includes an After School Program to provide our children with a safe environment amongst peers. It is very sad to see children who are crime victims in the hours after school as well as the number of children who are peer pressured into committing crimes. A Mentor Program which will target children who are constantly suspended from school. We want to determine the reason that our children are misbehaving and offer assistance to redirect such behavior. A Book Borrowing Program for children who have incarcerated parents. We will purchase and collect a wide variety of books that children will be allowed to borrow when visiting their incarnated parent. This will allow the parent an opportunity to help build their child’s vocabulary, be a part of their child’s educational success and also give the child and incarnated parent the chance to bond. The Event
Are you an Amazing Race addict or do you love scavenger hunts? Mishka Helps Food Drive and Scavenger Hunt will be more than just a chance to discover the hidden delights of Houston; it will also be family fun while competing for prizes, supporting a local charity and making Thanksgiving possible for Houston’s less fortunate. Teams of friends or families (3-5 people per team, per vehicle) will navigate the routes around Houston finding items on the Scavenger Hunt list, which will be provided. All items on the list will be FREE to obtain. Afterwards join us for FREE dinner and dessert at CiCi’s Pizza for participants!

What to bring?
A can or two of food & a sense of adventure! Volunteers/Sponsors We are seeking people to volunteer their time on the day of the event, from signing people in to collecting liability waivers and canned foods. We are also searching for more cash prizes, gift certificates and other merchandise to offer as incentives to participants. The Game Plan
Prizes will be awarded to the three teams with the most points. Sign up online as a team before November 13th. All you need is a happy disposition and a motor vehicle. The Scavenger Hunt list will be provided at the start of the hunt. You do not need to be a city of Houston resident to participate.
