Bromley Ski Weekend
February 5-7, 2010 Green Mountain Council, Boy Scouts of America P.O. Box 557, Waterbury, VT 05676 800.704.3089 Info@ScoutingVermont.org Welcome to the 35th season of the Green Mountain Council’s annual Bromley Ski Weekend! Bromley Ski Weekend is the largest and oldest Scouting event of its kind in the country. Each year, more than a thousand Scouts and leaders descend upon the little town of Manchester, Vermont. They sleep in church basements and school gymnasiums and eat in school cafeteria's. To ensure that you have an excellent time and that we have the space for you, there will be a registration date cutoff this year. We cannot accept any last minute reservations or changes after Friday, January 29, 2010. If at all possible, I would advise you to book early this year. For any troops not staying with us, you may pick up your packets at Manchester Elementary Middle School on Memorial Avenue on Friday night after 8 pm in the cafeteria or Saturday morning at Bromley Lodge. For those staying with us, directions will be sent to you by mail as to which school to go to for your packet of tickets. The mountain opens at 8am and closes at 4pm. We start serving breakfast in the school cafeteria at 6am each morning. A race will be held on Saturday at 1pm. There will be an award ceremony at 4pm, where Bromley will present the fastest skier and the fastest snowboarder with a season pass for the 2010-2011 ski season. Last year, both Bromley and the other skiers who were on the mountain commented on how well the Boy Scouts conducted themselves. With over 1,000 scouts participating, this was a great indication of what a wonderful program you scoutmasters are running! Thanks for the help! Looking forward to seeing you there!

When you call, tell them you are with the Boy Scouts and give your Troop number; you will receive a $10 discount off of the regular price for lessons. Prices are subject to change without notice. As event chairperson I would encourage you to help us to continue to provide this weekend for you at a reasonable cost. We utilize our local schools, churches and halls. It is helpful if the scouts attempt low impact camping skills, remove their trash and demonstrate their appreciation for these sites.
