The WASL results for children in last year’s grades 4, 7 and 8 are enclosed in this brown envelope.
The WASL has been used in every public school in Washington in hopes of ensuring that all
students get the same solid foundation of skills. Students in grades 4 and 7 at ICRS were tested in
reading, writing, and Math, and grade 8 students were tested in science. Although not required to
give these tests, we have in the past to help prepare our students for high school.

and use them to help us improve the way we teach and do a better job of meeting every student’s
If your child passed the WASL in all subjects, congratulations! And if your child did not pass the
WASL in all subjects, please don’t worry – we will continue to work with your child to help him/her
master the skills and knowledge he or she needs to succeed next time. Our teachers align our
curriculum with state standards so that our students will be well prepared for high school.
We know you want your child to enjoy and succeed in school, and we want to be partners with you
to make that happen.
