Procedure.                                        25/03/09
Lisa & Clarissa.
Hot air balloon.

Tools:
1. Balloons.
2. Wool / string.
3. Sticky tape.
4. Top part of pop top bottle.
5. Foil tart tray.
6. Paper.
7. Decorations for balloon.
8. Pen.
Instructions:
1.Stick 4 pieces of wool/ string around the hole of the pop top bottle.
2.Using sticky tape, wrap it around the pop top bottle with the 4 equal parts of
the string.
3.Create 4 holes in the foil tart tray.
4.Thread the wool/ string that are stuck on the pop top bottle through the foil
tart tray.
5.Blow up a balloon and tie it on a piece of wool/ string.
6.Now, connect the string from the balloon to the inside of the pop top bottle.
7.Draw miniature people using pen and paper to represent you.
8.Stick the miniature figures in the foil tart tray.
9.Using what you have, decorate your hot air balloon.
10. Leave the balloon to dry.
11. Wait for 3 hours.
12.Enjoy your hot air balloon model.

Why is she famous? :
Susan Boyle is a Scottish lady who has never been married and never been kissed by a boy. She
is 48 years old. She sung on Britain’s got Talent.
Description:
Susan’s singing:
Susan started singing when she was 12 years old. Her dream was to sing in front of a large
audience. When Simon Cowell asked her “why it has never worked out before”, she said “because I
have never been given the chance.”
Song:
The song Susan chose is I Dreamed a Dream. The song is by Les Miserables.
The judges/ History:
Susan Boyle had the big YES from the judges, the biggest yes in three seasons. Susan Boyle
made a huge hit on You Tube and made up to 100 million views. Susan lives with her cat called
Pebbles in her home.
Conclusion:
Superstar:
Susan Boyle is now contracted to a music company called Syco Music.

Classification:
Elephants are mammals that live on land.
They are large animal that belongs to the
Elephantidae family.
Description:
What elephants look like?
Elephants are large looking animals with a trunk. Their trunk can suck
up water and blow it out again. Adult elephants have a pair of tusk.
The tusks are for fighting and collecting food. All elephants have large
pair of ears. Their ears are large so it could keep the animal cool in
the heat.
Where do you find elephants?
Elephants live in many parts of Africa and Asia. They live in Indian
subcontinent, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thai Land and Vietnam.
What do they eat?
Elephants eat about 130 kilograms of vegetation
each day. They eat leaves, grass and plants.
Conclusion:
Even though elephants are strange and large looking
animals, they are very friendly unless you hurt them
first.

Save Our Planet!
This term we learnt about the ways to Save Our Planet
and what are the causes and effects on our planet. It
was an eye opener for me. It taught me lots on about
what’s happening to our Earth. I now understand why
people are fearful of the future.

Camp was a highlight for this term. I loved every moment of
CAMP! It was exciting to escape from my house and also the
school work. (:

The data shows that most people liked the
Parliament House because the majority of the
people have voted for the Parliament House.                                                              Which One Do You Like Best?

The least favourite of all the places we went the
Treasury. The data shows that no one has voted
for the Treasury.

A lot of people in 5/6B liked the Museum, but not
as much as the people who liked Parliament
House.

It was a beautiful place.

Treasury: At the Treasury, we went around an old building
and learnt about its history. We saw how people lived in
the old times when there weren’t any electricity. We even
learnt about Gold Rush. The Treasury is an interesting
place.
Museum: At the Museum, we went around looking at
beautiful sites and sceneries, like the Rain Forest. We
even saw dinosaur bones and under sea creatures. There
were also many bugs and butterflies to see. The museum
is an amazing place.
