THE ECUMENICAL PRAYER CYCLE - Enables us to journey in prayer through
every region of the world and affirm our solidarity with Christians around the globe.

PUMC MEN’S QUARTET ~ will present a Benefit Concert here in our sanctuary on TODAY, October 25, at 3:00 PM. The
concert program will consist of energized gospel songs, traditional sacred music, hymn selections arranged for 4-part
men's quartet, and some novelty selections to add some additional fun to the already-upbeat program. No tickets are
being issued; first-come, first-served seating. A free-will offering will be collected to benefit the music program at Plainfield
United Methodist Church.
DO YOU NEED A BREAK? ~ Come out for lunch bunch on Monday’s from 12-1pm. Bring your lunch and join us for
fellowship and some reflections. We will be looking at the book Sabbath by Wayne Muller and discussing the importance

2010 CALENDARS ~ Janet Gullicksen will be collecting 2010 Calendars and all occasion cards for Sunny Hill
Nursing Home in Joliet, IL. Please put them in the green square container in the stairway storage room.
THE EVENING PRAYER SHAWL GROUP ~ The evening prayer shawl group will be meeting on the 4th Tuesday
evening of every month at 7pm in the Parks Friendship Hall. The meeting dates are October 27th and Nomvember

ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT! ~ Attention all PUMC members there is only one more week for you to place your Butter Braid
orders with a PUMC Youth Group member. As of Wednesday October 28th all orders and payment must be turned in. So
what are you waiting for? With Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner Butter Braids make the perfect addition
to any breakfast, party, or large group gathering. Plus they are only $11! Please stop by the Gift Card table just outside the
Fellowship Hall to place your Butter Braid order today! There will be a Junior and Senior High Youth member ready and
willing to take your order! All proceeds will benefit PUMC Youth Mission Trip Fund!
LOUD OFFERING FOR SARAH CASEY ~ Sunday, November 8th bring your loose change and make a joyful noise with a
Loud Offering toward Sarah’s scholarship fund. Loose change makes lots of noise – but if you are short on quarters,
nickels and dimes, we will always accept “greenbacks” and checks. If you need help carrying your change into the church,
someone will be available to help you!! Mark your calendar for November 8th.
WOULD YOU LIKE FREE CHRISTMAS CARDS? ~ For the next few weeks we will have a basket in Janet Brown
Fellowship Hall that will have FREE Christmas cards for you to take and use. Do you have extra cards you no longer need
or want? Please consider contributing them to this worthwhile project. Sharing with each other while relieving expenses
heading into the holiday season, what a great way to celebrate and share with each other.
FOOD DRIVE ~ the 4th and 5th Grade Sunday school is preparing to conduct a Food Drive, to support the needs of the
Plainfield Food Pantry. They will give out flyers (with grocery bags attached) today after church and in their neighborhood.
They will collect the bags food on Saturday Oct 31 and Sunday Nov 1. Then Saturday Nov 7th, the class will go to the
Pantry (located at the Plainfield Township offices, 22525 W. Lockport), to drop off the food they collected, and assist with
packing up food. This is a great community service opportunity for the children to take part in. If you have any questions,

ADOPT-A-BILL ~ is a program to help the church meet ongoing expenses.. Utility bills and insurance for example. Please take
one or more of the tickets from the board in the lobby and place the ticket and your donation in one of the Adopt-A-Bill envelopes
and place it in the offering plate or return it to the church office. Your support will be a tremendous help in paying these ongoing
bills. We thank you in advance for your continued help and support and are happy to report that to date we have

BRING YOUR FAVORITE MUG TO COFFEE HOUR! ~ For both cost-saving and environmental
considerations, the Membership and Outreach Committee encourages you to bring your own mug from
home for use during coffee hour. This will limit the number of Styrofoam cups that are needed plus, it will
be an instant conversation starter! Look for a poster display with more information during coffee hour.
FORUM ON HEALTH-CARE REFORM ~ Hear different perspectives on health-care reform, see how your faith can
inform your opinions, and get your questions answered! Church and Society will be hosting a forum on health-care
reform in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, Nov. 8th. Pizza will be served at noon, and the forum will begin at 12:30pm.
Speakers will represent fields of medicine, mental health, government, and Christian ethics. Child-care is available
