BOROUGH OF PRINCETON CURBSIDE VEGETATIVE WASTE CLEAN UP SCHEDULE
SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER 2009
Beginning Monday, September 7, 2009 - all properties WEST OF WITHERSPOON STREET: vegetative waste - curbside by 7:00 a.m. Beginning Monday, September 14, 2009 - all properties EAST OF WITHERSPOON STREET: vegetative waste - curbside by 7:00 a.m. The schedule will continue every other Monday (subject to leaf and snow removal): September 7 – West October 5 – West November 2 – West December 7 - East September 14 – East October 12 – East November 9 – East December 14 - West September 21 – West October 19 – West November 16 – West December 21 - East September 28 – East October 26 – East November 23 – East December 28 - West November 30 – West Tied bundles should be smaller than one (1) foot in diameter, no longer than four (4) feet long. Due to different machinery processing material - leaves must be kept separate from twigs, sticks, grass, etc. Grass cannot be mixed with leaves, twigs, sticks, etc. The Borough no longer picks up grass; it is suggested that residents mulch their grass back into the lawn. The Mercer County Improvement Authority no longer collects grass clippings. The Borough encourages composting. However, if you choose to throw out your grass clippings, it must be placed in with your garbage cans on the regular garbage pickup day. Clippings may not be disposed of in plastic bags left at the edge of the road or in separate containers. ***LEAF COLLECTION WILL BEGIN THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 12 AT WHICH TIME THE VACUUM TRUCKS WILL BE IN OPERATION. DURING LEAF COLLECTION, PLEASE LEAVE LEAVES LOOSE AT THE CURB. UNTIL THEN, LEAVES MUST BE IN OPEN BAGS OR CONTAINERS.*** DURING THIS TIME PLEASE NOTE THAT BRUSH PICKUP MAY BE HALTED SUBJECT TO LEAF AND SNOW REMOVAL. Residents are welcome to deliver vegetative waste (sticks and leaves - no grass) to the Joint Compost Facility at 3701 Princeton Pike, Lawrence Township, 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. weekdays only. Also: The Princeton Sewer Operating Committee Convenience Center accepts lumber, brick, stone, furniture, appliances, woody brush, clean leaves, tires, and motor oil.
