Wemtfieiders Work Together. • .
Westfieiders working together for the benefit of all is the modus operandi of both the Westfteld Foundation and the United Fund of Westfield. Following a tradition of the Wallace family foundation, a large donation was made by the Foundation to this year's United Fund campaign fund. Such a gift helps the Westfield Community Center continue its after school day care program. Children ages6 to II enjoy music, crafts, and athletics from 3 to 6 daily. They also receive homework help and a hot nutritionally balanced supper. The generosity of Westfieiders both individually and through the Foundation allows the Westfield Y to continue to offer such opportunities as the summer computer camp program- a hands-on opportunity to learn the hows and whys of computer operation. And the Red Cross can offer a senior citizens program from 9-5 daily as well ae first aid services, blood services, and disaster services because of the work of the United Fund and the Westfield Foundation. The Foundation wants to see the United Fund reach its goal, because it wants to see that Westfielders receive the diversified services of the many United Fund agencies. Trustees of both groups want to work together to keep West field the fine communi ty that it is. People like Charles Frankenbach, Ted Nelson and Sally Allen of the Foundation work together with Ernie Winter. Linda Maggio and Bill Meglaughlin of the United Fund. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the United Fund may do so at its office at 300 North Ave. A deferred contribution may be made by sending ittothe Westfield Foundation, 210 Orchard St. All monies received by the Foundation are carefully invested and the interest IB distributed in the form of grants.
