ROI is calculated by tracking the time and cost to implement (learn) the software. It takes into account the investment in the purchase, training and customization of the software. It allows the entry of firm-specific data: Gross Income is automatically calculated by multiplying the number of employees in the firm by the "average" billable rate, by the billable hours per year. Net Income is automatically calculated by subtracting Gross from the Yearly Operating Expense. ROI is calculated by using the cost of software purchase, training, customization, and the expected learning curve versus increased profit over a year's time.
