Results and Findings
The first question of the survey was simply a qualifying question, and a 100% response in favor of Yes tells us that everyone who was surveyed was reads books The second question simply divides readers into those who read a lot and those who barely read A high response for options 1 and 2 emphases that 60% of those who took the survey, read books often or somewhat often More than 60 % respondents showed no special preference between fiction and non fiction, but comparing between fiction and non fiction, fiction was a clear winner 81% respondents confirmed that they read a book more than once, which simply means that they keep (preferred) books with them for a prolonged period of time though a number of varied responses were found, the mention of Harry potter, as their favouraite fiction book topped all others more than 80% of those surveyed responded positively and aknowledge that they were aware of author J.K.Rowling Though 30% of those surveyed had neutral optinoin about J.K. Rowling, 51% said that they strongly liked the writing style of J.K. Rowling This simply confirms the liking for novels by J.K. Rowling This was a simply qualifying question to identify the percentage of those who had read Harry potter books, even though 5% did said that they haven’t read Harry potter books, they were still included in the survey to gain prospective Findings showed a declining trend as more books were released. Though 69% of respondents said that that had read the first harry potter book, only 28% of those who surveyed had read the last one more than 39% of those surveyed said that “harry potter and the goblet of fire” was their favorite book, and only 6% said that “harry potter and the order of phoenix” was theirs 58% of those surveyed said that they strongly liked the first harry potter book, and this simply shows the comparison between those who did and didn’t like the first harry potter book, as the bar chart shows, none of those responding said that they disliked the first harry potter book
45% of those surveyed, said that they liked harry potter series as a whole, and only 15% had a neutral opinion about it, and none of those surveyed said that they disliked harry potter book series Though only 23% of respondents said that they were strongly agreeing to harry potter series ending, most responded in a neutral or only partially satisfied way. Which simply means that most number of readers weren’t fully satisfied by the way harry potter series ended 71% of those surveyed said that they have recommended harry potter books to friends and everyone of those surveyed said that they had recommended harry potter books to someone 50% respondents were unaware and responded neutrally towards fan created fiction for harry potter books, which simply shows the lack of proper promotion and information regarding such matters more than 89% of those surveyed said that they had seen the second harry potter movie, but more interesting is the fact that there was parity (more or less) among all 5 options which means, more readers prefer to watch the movie instead of reading the book, or simply skipping a book or two in between 79% of those surveyed responded positively preferring harry potter movies as well as books, and only 9% said that they disliked the movies as compared with books 81% of those surveyed said they did not read harry potter books more than once. with a wide range of merchandise available in the market today 16% respondents said that they owned harry potter scrapbooks, 34% said that they owned harry potter merchandised bags and 9% said that they own harry potter merchandised cloths, this level of response simply shows the potential for more harry potter merchandised and show us what the consumer prefer. when asked, a question regarding the future of harry potter series, most respondents asked for more books, which simply shows that there is still much potential left in the market, for harry potter books
