JYOTISH is called the eyes of the Vedas. It is one of the Upvedas. Jyotish is endowed for its rich spiritual tradition as well as its accuracy in revealing life.s events. This course will cover the basics of JYOTISH, its origin and philosophy, Panchang, Naksatras. Janma and Rashi Charts, the dashas, and various concepts related to interpretation of a Rashi Chart and matching of horoscopes etc.
II. ADVANCED VEDIC ASTROLOGY
April 24th-29th, 2008 (9:00am to 5:00pm daily)
Faculty: Dr. K.S. Charak, Brendan Feeley, Ronnie Gale, Dreyer, Yogi Karve [Guruji]
Topics covered: Yogas in Vedic Astrology, Importance of Retrograde Planets and Eclipses, Case Study in Medical Astrology, Yogini Dasha, Varshphal, Professions, Marriage and Navamsha, Synthesis and Analysis of Horoscopes. Yogas in Vedic Astrology: The course will cover the intricacies of Yogas in the horoscope. Dr. Charak has written a book on Yoga and he will teach importance of various Yogas in the horoscope. Forecasting with Eclipses and Retrogrades: World Events and Birth Charts based on eclipses, planetary stations, and retrograde cycles. References from Brihat Samhita. Case Study in Medical Astrology: Study conducted by Dr. Charak in the last couple of years. Varshphal - Annual Horoscope: Dr. Charak will teach how to analyze the annual horoscope and its functioning within the Vimshottari Dasha system SPECIAL PROGRAM - Satsang with Yogi Karve Professions in Vedic Astrology: Traits and tendencies of individuals thru their horoscopes. Marriage and Navamsha Chart interpretation by Yogini Dasha: As an alternate to Vimshottari dasha to refine the dates. One cycle of Yogini Dasha is only 36 years instead of 120 yrs of Vimshottari. Synthesis and Analysis of Horoscope: Dr. Charak will discuss various techniques used to analyze horoscopes.
