Site Supervisor – LINC Programs, Continuing & Adult Education
Your TESL Ontario certification, adult education experience, and understanding of the needs of a
diverse adult student population make you well suited to join our Continuing and Adult Education
team as a Site Supervisor – LINC Programs.
Reporting to the Vice-Principal, Adult Education, you will be responsible for the coordination and
administration of Adult Non Credit Language programs, including day-to-day operations, planning,
curriculum development, implementation and maintenance of programs and services, and program
budget development and management. As a Site Supervisor, you will ensure consistency at all sites, be
responsible for staffing, provide leadership, promote the program, courses and services, and develop
community partnerships. This position involves on-call duties in the evenings and weekends, to obtain
supply coverage for instructors and resolve emergency situations, as well as some travel to various sites,
community organizations and off-site meetings.
Your responsibilities as a Site Supervisor – Continuing and Adult Education will include:
Developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating program curriculum, scheduling and
services to meet student and program needs in accordance with funding guidelines and
Providing support to the Superintendent in the development of budget and business cases by
preparing and analyzing financial reports, proposals, statistics, forecasts and estimates.
Developing, monitoring and maintaining program budgets, analyzing and submitting various
financial and funding reports on a timely basis, resolving variances and liaising with Finance and
Preparing letters, memos and correspondence for reporting and distributing information,
documenting activities, and ensuring compliance with program needs and requirements.
Supervising assigned staff, with responsibility for hiring, orientation, training, staff meetings,
obtaining supply coverage for instructors, and performance management, including evaluating,
mentoring and resolving conflicts.
Promoting and presenting programs and related course offerings and services to meet the
projected enrolment estimates and encourage participation.
Collaborating with Settlement Workers and community organizations to develop suitable
partnerships and provide students with information and connections with various community
Reviewing current initiatives, identifying needs and recommending improvements to programs,
services and efficiencies to meet the growing needs of a diverse population.
As a Site Supervisor – Continuing and Adult Education, you will be able to apply your:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Languages, Education, English, Mathematics or a related
Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Ontario Certification.
Minimum of 4 years of related experience in adult education and in a supervisory role.
Solid knowledge of Canadian Language Benchmarks.
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills.
Excellent problem-solving, dispute resolution and mediation skills to resolve conflicts.
Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of various community organizations and the needs of a diverse adult student
Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, and financial information systems.
Ability to work on-call in the evenings and weekends, to obtain supply coverage for instructors
and resolve emergency situations.
Ability to undertake some travel to various sites, community organizations and off-site meetings.
