From the President, Karen Bain
I would like to congratulate Mooresville and Monrovia High Schools for being named “Best Buy” by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. These two high schools were among 160 Indiana High Schools to receive this honor. In addition Mooresville was awarded the distinction of being an “Honor Roll” School. These awards are being made to schools with the Highest level of achievement for the lowest amount of tax dollars. The honor roll award is given to schools that excel academically, despite having at risk factors. Morgan county residents and businesses should be proud of the efficient use of their school tax dollars. Our Mooresville Chamber will be hosting a “Scholarship Fair” December 13, 2005 from 6:30p.m.- 8:30p.m. at Mooresville High School. Our Chamber awards scholarships each year to selected senior from Mooresville, Monrovia, and Eminence High Schools. It is our goal to get all organizations that award scholarships or funding to our area high school seniors to participate in this fair to provide students and their parents or guardians knowledge about available scholarships and the opportunity to pick-up the applications. Participating organizations will have the ability to meet students who are pursing postsecondary education programs and explain the scholarship process. We are also making plans to have high school counselors available at this fair from all three schools. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. I can be reached at 317-831-4921 or 317-290-7910. I look forward to participating in giving our area seniors additional opportunities in achieving their goals and future career.

Karen Bain, President

“One of our goals at the chamber is to be a resource of information for our community.” Mindy Taylor, Office Admins

Scholarship Fair Date Changed to December 13, 2005
Our first scholarship fair will be at The Mooresville High School gymnasium on Tuesday evening, December 13th at 6:30 p.m. We are inviting all businesses, associations and organizations that provide scholarships to local seniors to set up booths to provide seniors and their parents information on scholarships that are available. Many scholarships are available and we just need to get the word out to seniors in Mooresville, Monrovia and Eminence. The small number of applicants we receive each year lead us to believe that many local seniors are unaware of the numerous scholarships provided. Please help us get this information to our local seniors & their parents. For additional information or booth space call Susan Lowe at 831-6272

Susan Lowe, Scholarship Committee Chairperson
