					            LATE POLICY: THE WOODLANDS HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH DEPARTMENT

Please read the following carefully. Assignments given in the class will be accepted late according to the
following guidelines. All assignments are due at the beginning of class.

I. Daily grades: no late work accepted
This might include but is not limited to homework, classwork, practice sheets, questions, writing
assignments, and vocabulary activities—any daily grade.


II. Major grades: -20 % per 24 hours late
This might include but is not limited to projects, research drafts and final copies, presentations, and
essays—any major grade.
      **These major grades will be considered late even if student is absent on the day the work is due.
 It is the responsibility of the student to turn the paper/ project in early or have someone (a parent,
sibling, or friend) deliver the work on the date due, by the beginning of the student’s class period.

III. If the student is absent on the day the work is assigned, the make-up work will follow the school
policy.
