Young Professionals Society (YPS)’s Chairman Chris Russo and ASTA staff extended a special invitation to all YPC ambassadors for a joint meeting September 10th. "The young professionals are the future of our industry," said Christiane Théberge, ACTA president and CEO. "The objective of YPC is to create a forum for networking and addressing issues they are facing on a daily basis in their career. We need to assist them in their professional development because when they are at their best then our industry is at its best." YPC ambassadors will have an opportunity to attend training sessions during the trade show and to network with one another, with the hopes of developing their own personal contacts and building stronger business relationships. Members of ACTA's senior management team will attend the joint YPS/YPC meeting to encourage the young Canadian professionals to become active in such a program. In addition to the educational segment, the group will have an opportunity to attend the YP Rocks event at THETRADESHOW that is a special event honoring young travel professionals in the travel industry. ACTA's YPC program is exclusively for travel professionals aged 40 or younger and working in an agency member of ACTA or an employee of an ACTA Allied Member. Now in its founding year, YPC hopes to attract many young and dynamic travel professional participants. Members of YPC will develop their own program with the support of ACTA. It could include exclusive events, educational forums, networking activities, exclusive e-Newsletter and webpage, etc.
