Overall aims of the Department of LRIS i. To develop and provide information systems and services using modern technology. ii. iii. To maintain Information Technology equipment and infrastructure. To provide and co-ordinate research services to Members and Parliamentary Committees. iv. To provide library and documentation services.

Objectives of the Department To develop and provide efficient computer based information systems and services. To ensure IT equipment and infrastructure are well maintained. To provide efficient and effective library and documentation services to Members and staff of Parliament.

To provide efficient and timely research services to Members, Committees and staff of Parliament.

To build the capacity of Members and staff in the use of Information Technology facilities.

To develop and provide efficient Computer-based information Systems for Parliament To develop and maintain IT infrastructure To provide Computer hardware and software maintenance services To provide Computer training to MPs and Staff

Objectives of the Section To provide efficient Information Systems and services to MPs and Staff To provide efficient computer user support services To ensure the Parliamentary Intranet and the Local Area Network are operational all the time

To provide efficient hardware and software maintenance services To organise regular Computer training programs for MPs and Staff To ensure VSAT and other maintenance services are carried out as per contract

Purpose of the Job To provide IT hardware and software preventive and remedial maintenance services.

Job objectives/tasks To provide user-support services and attend to reported problems within 2 hours thereafter.

ii) iii) iv)

To assist in troubleshooting and Network Administration problems when need arises To handle minor repairs on IT equipment within 48 hours of breakdown To update the systems software and applications software when need arises and carry out regular anti-virus updates

v) vi)

To carryout quarterly maintenance services on computer hardware. To install new hardware and software on acquisition.
