2008 Christmas Parade Roster of Participants
1. Appleton Police Department Color Guard / Honor Guard Here we have the members of the Appleton Police Department Color Guard Honor Guard, proudly displaying the US and State of Wisconsin flags. 2. Appleton City Band Listen to the sounds of the Appleton City Band, representing the city of Appleton for over 60 years. The Concert Band performs free outdoor concerts during the summer evenings in Appleton’s City Park, under the direction of Ivan Spangenberg, while the marching band, under the direction of An Gehrmann represents the city in all three of the downtown parades. 3. Scarlet Guard Color Guard American Legion Post #38 The Scarlet Guard is the Color Guard unit for the American Legion Post 38 in Appleton, comprised of veterans and sons of veterans, while one active member is a WWII veteran. The Scarlet Guard performs a variety of functions, including marching in parades around the area, posting and retiring of the Colors, as well as representing the Colors during the National Anthem. Since 1983, the Scarlet Guard takes pride in honoring the Colors and serving the community. 4. Parade Marshall – Ralph Kennedy II /Whisper Hill Clydesdales The Grand Marshall for the 38th Annual Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade, ―Christmas Dreams‖ is Ralph Kennedy II. Ralph is Vice President of Business Banking for Johnson Bank. Ralph is joined tonight by his lovely wife, Dr. Linda Dejmek. A long time resident of the Fox Valley area, Ralph was the 2005 recipient of the Bernie Perlman ―Downtowner‖ Award, is Chairman of the Board for the St. Elizabeth Foundation and a member of the Wisconsin Veteran Foundation and the Downtown Rotary. Ralph is also Past President of both Appleton Downtown, Inc. and the Appleton Library Foundation. The 2008 Grand Marshall, Ralph Kennedy II, is riding in a horse drawn carriage

Fox Cities Performing Arts Center / Mrs. Claus Next up is the entry from Fox Cities Performing Arts Center and Fox Valley Symphony titled ―Twas’ the Night before Christmas‖. Here you can see the mom and dad all nestled in bed, the children playing with their newly received toys, while Mrs. Claus, is joining them tonight from the North Pole and sits in her rocker near the Christmas tree. 6. Appleton West High School Marching Band Coming up, we have the musical talents of the Appleton West High School Marching Band, 200 members strong, under the direction of Mike Ross. 7. Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department has been a part of the parade since 1981. The honor guard, along with Sheriff Brad Gehring, represent again this year. 8. Schenck Business Solutions Our next float entry is from Schenck Business Solutions. Christmas Dreams mean something different to everyone and here the dream is a wonderful vacation in a tropical location and Schneck wants to help you make that a reality. 9. Lamers Bus Lines / Foster Boys & Girls Club Happy Holidays from Lamers Bus Lines! In this year’s parade Lamers Bus Lines is represented with one of their seasonally decorated, ―old world style‖ Trolley buses. Lamers Bus Lines, has terminal locations throughout Wisconsin and one in Florida. Marching alongside the trolley today are twirler members of the Boys and Girls Club at Foster Charter Elementary School, under the direction of Mary Beth Bialecki. All dressed in red with their sparkly snowflakes, along with Lamers family, management, and staff, wishing everyone ―Happy Holidays‖. 10. New London High School Marching Band
Under the direction of Adam Hardt, the 200 members of the New London High School Marching Band are in fine sound tonight. Tonight’s selection is ―Christmas on Parade‖ with drum majors Zac Kraemer and Kali McDonald leading the way. The band is planning a special trip to New York City 11. WHBY/ Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Fox Valley Region / and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans "Sometimes dreams are achieved by banding together. Here we see the combined entry from Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Fox Valley Region, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and 1150 WHBY. Big Brothers Big Sisters has been serving youth for over 100 years through mentoring programs which provide the adult resources that add up to LITTLE MOMENTS OF BIG MAGIC! Thrivent Financial brings its members together for social, educational and volunteer activities that support organizations and individuals in need. 1150 - WHBY a long time supporter of the community is a proud media sponsor of the Appleton Christmas Parade. WHBY is providing the music and tow vehicle for this combined effort. Their wish for tonight is: May the magic of the Christmas season always be yours. 12. Century 21 Acre Realty Our next float entry is from Century 21 Acre Realty with a special winter theme with the children waving to the crowd. Century 21 Acre Realty represents their Christmas Dreams in the making float! Santa's helpers have built a house to make the toys for all you good girls and boys! The big elf Zach is supervising all the 21 for tots children as they prepare for next years dreams really do come true! 13. Outagamie County Highway Department
direction of Mrs. Bobbi Jo Martinson are honored and pleased to be a part of this year's Appleton Christmas Parade for the 13th time. The Bonduel marching unit is under the leadership of senior Drum Major, Melissa Hoppe and will perform one of their favorite Christmas selections: "Do You Hear What I Hear". The Bonduel marching unit contains well over 1/4 of the High School student body, and with pride, represents the community of Bonduel, and would like to wish everyone a safe and joyous holiday season. 15. Valley Home Builders Association / Toys for Tots This military vehicle is driven by local Marine Corps Reserves and is promoting the Toys for Tots program, whose mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys to be distributed at Christmas to needy children and teenagers throughout the country. Valley Home Builders Association is the Toys for Tots Local Coordinating Office in the Appletonarea. Valley Home Builders Association coordinates more than 175 toy drop-off locations, and distributed more than 13,000 toys in 2007 and 14,000 toys in 2006. This year’s toy drive begins November 15 and ends December 12. Visit www.vhba.com for a list of drop off locations. 17. ORGLE / Llamas & Alpacas Here are the members of the camelid family, llamas and alpacas. Originating from South America, they’re a docile animal with huge attention getting eyes. Next up, the Outagamie County Highway Department has their ―Plowing for Santa‖ entry, a 1983 Oshkosh truck mounted with a large front V plow and side wing, painted with an elf shoveling a pile of snow and a scene of Santa in his sleigh with eight reindeer pulling it. 14. Bonduel High School Marching Band The Bonduel High School Band under the direction of Mr. Tim Treptow and the Flag team under the
Next up is a concrete mixer truck from MCC Inc. All decorated with lights, garland, and presents, waving and wishing everyone a safe holiday season. 19. Tennies Jewelry Our next float entry is from Tennies Jewelry. Wishing everyone "Happy Holidays" from the Valley’s oldest family owned independent jeweler with locations in downtown Appleton and Oshkosh.
20. Kaukauna High School Marching Band Next up, the Kaukauna High School Galloping Ghost leads The Kaukauna High School Marching Ghost’s band and dance team. This year’s Galloping Ghost is junior, Jennifer Peotter on her horse Odessa. Jennifer painted Odessa’s nails special for tonight’s TV debut in the Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade. The Marching Ghosts, 100 strong, is under the direction of John Stangel and the Kaukauna Dance Team is comprised of 20 members coached by Head Coach Carlyn Gratke and Assistant Coach Malerie Sanders. On behalf of the Kaukauna Area School District and ourselves, we wish you a happy holiday season. 21. Community Blood Center The next entry in line is one of the Community Blood Center’s bloodmobiles decorated for the holiday season. This 40 foot bus is actually a fully self-contained blood donor center on wheels, with everything needed to conduct blood drives at various locations. The Community Blood Center is a notfor-profit organization that has served the Fox Valley for over 50 years. 22. Casa Hispana From Casa Hispana, we see the Latin American tradition of ―Posada‖ represented on their float. Here you can see the families praying and singing, asking for shelter for Joseph and Mary within the neighborhood. Here their float is divided by a door, one side you see the Nativity scene, and on the other, the people all on the street searching for shelter, with the float displaying flags from Latin American countries. 23. King’s Jesters Clown Troupe Next, the King's Jesters Clown Troupe, a clown ministry troupe that has been sprinkling fun and silliness in the area for 17 years. The King's Jesters present: A Clown's Christmas Dreams! Ma and Pa Clown have just settled in for a snooze where we see fun, laughter and lots of clown friends showing off their dreams. One wants a new nose, another a tricycle, some want to ride on a pony, others want to
learn to juggle balls, or spin a plate. Or maybe they'll just run off to the circus. The clowns all dream of spreading joy, love, and laughter, and hope that the world will find peace, ever after. 24. Peshtigo High School Marching Band The Peshtigo High School Marching band is lead by Senior Drum Majors Kellie Becker and Ross Neumann. This is the second appearance of the band at the Appleton Christmas Parade. Tonight the band is playing Christmas Parade Sequence that features Joy to the World, Good King Wenceslas, and Hark the Harold Angels Sing. Peshtigo High School Band is under the direction of band director Danny Smith and Color Guard Advisor Janet Thibado. 25. Habitat For Humanity Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Fox Cities Area celebrated several milestones this year. They celebrated their 15th anniversary and the completion of their 100th home built here in the Fox Cities area. Because of the tremendous support of volunteers and donors, they continue to build new homes with local low-income families looking for a simple, decent, affordable house, by helping families with a handup, not a handout. 26. Seagrave Fire Apparatus, LLC Seagrave Fire Apparatus, LLC. located in Clintonville, was founded in 1881 by Frederic Seagrave and is the oldest continuous manufacturer of fire apparatus in North America. In keeping with the parade theme, you’ll see what children of all ages may be dreaming about Christmas Eve, brightly wrapped presents and maybe even a shiny fire truck underneath the Christmas tree. We also see some little fire fighters (children and grand children of Seagrave employees) who may dream of becoming real firefighters one day. 27. Boys and Girls Club of the Fox Valley The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley’s BE GREAT Express is all about the dreams of young people today. Within every child there is the potential for greatness and all of us play a vital role in helping young people find and achieve their dreams. Boys & Girls Club Members painted their
dreams in the windows of the train. No matter what the dream, just Be Great. The Boys & Girls Clubs’ float was made possible by Miron Construction. 28. Appleton East High School Marching Band Here we have the holiday sounds of the Appleton East High School Marching Band, 90 members plus, under the direction of Margaret LaFleur. Tonight, they’ll be playing the traditional song of ―Santa on Parade,‖ as well as their popular drum cadence. 29. St. Joseph Food Program Designed out of the very items St. Joseph Food Program depends on to feed the 1100 families that walk through the door every week, this truck is built out of canned goods and is designed to look like the trucks that pick up donated food items from local grocery stores, bakeries and restaurants. St. Joe's is thankful for the many food drives that take place in the community and encourages this help year round...because food is a consumable, the need is year round! This truck has over 1800 cans of varying sizes. The theme: ―Together, We Can Do!‖ 30. Johnson Bank ―Big Dreams Start Small‖ with Johnson Bank and Johnson Insurance as they honor the Appleton Downtown Christmas Parade and their version of Christmas Dreams. Donning bright red scarves to keep festive and warm on this brisk fall evening, members of the Johnson Bank family are riding in a traditional Cavanuagh Carriage being drawn by Trixie. Following Trixie is D.T., a little horse with a big heart. Johnson Bank and Johnson Insurance invite all their friends and family to join them in celebrating the Dreams of Christmas in Downtown Appleton! 31. Paper Valley Roller Girls Our next float entry is from the Paper Valley Roller Girls, the only non-profit roller derby league in Appleton. Here we have a bed of children with their dreams floating above their heads, while the rest of the family is all sitting around the tree listening to a story, and presents with more dreams and wishes are scattered all about. 32. Menasha High School Marching Band Here is the Menasha High School Bluejay Brigade Marching Band, under the direction of Kevin Plekan. Known for their dancing style of marching, the 135 member band is here tonight for your holiday entertainment. The Blue Jays have marched at the BCS Championship game, 4 Packer games and a Presidential Inaugural Parade. 32. Outlook Group Our next Christmas Dreams float is brought to you by Outlook Group, a printing, packaging and direct marketing company in Neenah. Above the clouds a child sleeps awaiting Christmas morning. He dreams of his little forest friends and the Christmas that they will share. Among the snowy foothills the forest creatures have found an oasis where they have decorated the trees in the spirit of Christmas. Watch closely and you will see an amazing display of brilliant lights that move to the sounds of angelic Christmas music. 33. Appleton Public Library Our next entry, titled ―Making Dreams Come True, Everyday!‖ comes from the Appleton Public Library. Are you dreaming of the perfect book? Check out the selection at the Appleton Public Library and share the joy of reading with your entire family. With over 400,000 titles on its shelves, the Appleton Public Library can assure you that you’ll find the book that’s right for you! From all the staff here at Appleton Public Library, sweet dreams and have a great holiday season! 34. American Red Cross – Outagamie Chapter Next up, the American Red Cross - Outagamie Chapter disaster vehicle is all decorated for the holidays with lights, wreaths and stockings, while volunteers are walking along wearing vintage Red Cross attire. The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. The American Red Cross is glad to serve the community and wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season! 35. North Shore Bank
Continuing with the theme of ―Christmas Dreams‖ here we see the float entry from North Shore Bank; a favorite entry every year. 36. Little Chute High School Marching Band Listen to the Holiday offerings of the Little Chute High School Marching Band. Under the direction of Amy Albedyll, we see the 80 plus members of band and dance team. 37. Schultze Family Float Here we see the only family float, dreaming of a white Christmas. It features children of all ages enjoying the great outdoors surrounded by trees and other items decorated with thousands of white lights. The Schultze family has participated in the Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade for 18 years. 38. Rebuilding Together Fox Valley Our next float entry comes from Rebuilding Together Fox Valley, a non-profit organization that rebuilds home for the elderly and disabled in the Fox Cities. On their float we see featured a playhouse to be auctioned off and the little girl that is dreaming of winning it. 39. Fox City Foxz Roller Derby Here come the Fox City Foxz Roller Derby all dressed in the holiday colors, walking and skating as gingerbread cookies and Christmas presents. Let’s listen to the rocking holiday music! 40. Oshkosh West High School Marching Band Next up, the Oshkosh West High School Wildcat Marching Band. The band program consists of five bands created out of 330 members. The students in the West Bands are proud to represent their city and school with a high quality of musicianship, under the direction of Timothy Doleysh (Doll-ish), Director of Bands at Oshkosh West High School. 41. Plato’s Closet An outdoor forest winter wonderland is the look of our next float entry from Plato’s Closet, a local resale shop. Here we see friends and family all
sitting around the campfire together, roasting marshmallows in a dreamy winter wonderland, spending quality time with each other. What a cozy scene for a cold winter night. 42. Rhythm in Motion Dance Studio Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. And what’s more, here we see the dancers from Rhythm in Motion Dance Studio, carrying their large diamond rings while performing their dance routine as they go down the parade route. Dressed in green velvet, wearing their white gloves, headbands and earmuffs, the dancers range in age from 10-18 years old. 43. Ed’s Boat Sales From Ed’s Boat Sales, if our next entry is exactly what you’re wishing for this Christmas. Here is what your letter might read… Dear Santa, I have been VERY good this year…please bring our Family a new Sea Ray Boat to enjoy. And see what you can do about shortening up winter too! So please, please send me my boat. In spirit of the 2008 Parade theme ―Christmas Dreams‖; Ed’s Boat Sales has a dream for the Community. We wish Peace, Good Fortune, Health and Happiness to everyone. May all of Your Christmas Dreams come true this Holiday Season. 44. Xavier High School Marching Band Under direction of Kevin Peters, the 98 members of the Xavier High School Marching Band entertain us tonight with the sounds of the holidays. 45. ACES / Xavier Educational System Elves, ageless creatures that live in dreams are out celebrating tonight with their past parade puppet friends this year. There is an elf to represent each school in the ACES/Xavier Educational System. The 9th grade Introduction to Art students made a list of Christmas Dreams and the symbols floating over the heads of these elves symbolize those dreams. ―Peace on Earth‖, ―love‖ ―joy‖ and ―families being together‖ were on most students’ most desired lists. I-pod’s‖ and ―cell phones that text‖ were next. One big dreamer listed ―a car.‖ Several lists included
―puppies,‖ ―clothes,‖ ―sweets,‖ ―cash‖ and the ―Nintendo Wii game.‖ Students from each of the ACES schools carry wrapped presents that represent the unnamed dreams and the spirit of giving that this season inspires. 46. Appleton Fire Department The Appleton Fire Dept. is proud to be a part of this year’s Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade! A long time participant in the parade—the firefighters are always excited to be a part of this wonderful community tradition. Riding in the engine with the Appleton Firefighters is Alex Reis (―RICE‖) from the Classical School in Appleton. He is the winner of the 6th grade poster contest held in October during Fire Prevention Week. Alex had his poster displayed on a billboard and received a ride home from school in a fire engine and is participating with firefighters in this year’s Christmas Parade. Congratulations to Alex! The Appleton Fire Department reminds everyone to be safe as we head into the holiday season! 47. Cellcom Sharing Your Christmas Dreams is the theme for Cellcom float entry. What would Christmas be without children around the world spending endless hours paging through toy catalogs and dreaming about all of the gifts they wish Santa would deliver on Christmas morning? For generations, kids wrote down everything they dreamed of Santa delivering, sealed the letter in a special envelope and personally walked it to the mail box to ensure Santa would receive it in plenty of time. This float highlights how technology has changed that. Today, kids simply use their cell phones to send Santa a text message to share all their Christmas dreams with him. Within seconds Santa receives their wish list and has plenty of time to prepare their gifts to be delivered on Christmas morning. 48. Miller Electric / Weldcraft Co- sponsored by Miller Electric and Weldcraft in Appleton, this float features Santa’s reindeer, and of course Rudolph the RED nosed reindeer leading team. Lighting, which is sequenced to Christmas music, adds a special touch to this float. There are several children dressed as Santa’s helpers riding on the float, and of course they are
―Dreaming of Christmas‖ when children wake up to find special presents under the Christmas tree. 49. Menominee High School Marching Band Nothing can stop the Christmas spirit of this next band…all the way from Menominee, Michigan, performing in their 18th consecutive Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade. Here’s Menominee High School’s ―Marching Maroons‖! The band is playing three songs tonight…‖Joy To The World‖, ―Good King Wenceslas‖, and ―Hark the Herald Angels Sing‖. The 60 plus members of the ―Marching Maroons‖, are under the direction of Jon Nutter and would like to welcome their new superintendent and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Erik Bergh to Menominee, as well as wish you and yours the very best this holiday season. 50. YMCA of the Fox Valley The Appleton YMCA Christmas Float depicts some of the challenges Santa faces during the holiday season. In the workshop many of the elves are working quickly to finish the last of the children's presents; while the rest of the elves are helping to get the overstuffed bag down the chimney. Will everything get done in time? 51. Appleton Boychoir / Appleton™ (formerly Appleton Papers) Here is the entry from Appleton Papers and Appleton Boychoir. After the parade, there will be a tree lighting ceremony in City Park and the Appleton Boychoir will be performing their holiday sounds. Hope to see you there! 52. M & I Bank / Fox Valley Stars While the earth lay covered in a blanket of shimmering white, sleeping children dream of years gone by and promises of the future. The Fox Valley Stars shimmer along side as we recall the memories of our past and opportunities yet to come. Holiday images along with wishes, hopes, and goals are displayed on the M&I ―Shares your Dreams‖ float. M&I and The Fox Valley Stars wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season and we hope all your dreams come true.
53. Fox Valley Lutheran High School Marching Band Next up, here we have the sounds of the Fox Valley Lutheran High School Marching Band, under the direction of James Neujahr. This 90 plus member band consists of members from the concert and symphonic bands, as well as members of the award winning Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin. 54. Lutheran Girl Pioneers Here is our next float entry from the Lutheran Girl Pioneers, an organization founded to keep the girls ―Loyal to Christ‖. Now in it's charter year- Caravan #136 of the Lutheran Girl Pioneers at Riverview Lutheran Church is composed of 20 girls under the leadership of Jennie Shea. Here we see them sitting around the campfire, roasting marshmallows, and reflecting on Jesus, the best gift of all! 55. Makaroff Youth Ballet Our next ―Christmas Dreams‖ entry comes from Makaroff Youth Ballet, under the artistic direction of Jeanette Makaroff. What better story of Christmas Dreams than the Nutcracker Ballet when Clara dreams on Christmas Eve about visiting the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Here we have a glimpse of the Nutcracker Ballet with dancers in costumes presenting choreographed ballet combinations for everyone to enjoy! 56. St. Mary Parish Celebrating 150 years as a Parish in 2009, here we have the entry from St. Mary Parish. They remind us that ―Jesus is the Reason for Every Season‖ with a Live Nativity they have portrayed at their Parish for many years. Parishioners Tom Goodsett and Renee Simon are singing ―Do You Hear What I Hear?‖ From 1848 to 1859 European immigrants worshiped in local homes and public places. In 1859 their dream came true… ground was broken to build a Catholic Church. The Church stands just 3 blocks south of here on State Street. 57. Kimberly High School Dance Team Next up, the Kimberly High School Dance Team, under the direction of Patricia Eckerman. The 30member team is marching and dancing for your
enjoyment to the sounds of the Kimberly High School Marching Band. Look at their Christmas spirit! 58. Kimberly High School Marching Band The Kimberly High School Papermaker Marching Band is under the direction of Mr. Craig Gall and Mr. Matthew McVeigh and is comprised of 210 musicians and color guard members. The Color Guard instructors are Mrs. Joann Zeka and Miss Trista Siegel. The Drum Majors are Corey Vande Voort and Thomas Sauder. Tonight the band is performing a swinging Doug Adams arrangement of ―You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch‖ from the classic 1966 Dr. Suess animated tale How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Kimberly High School Band has been an annual participant in the Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade. Check out the band’s website at www.kimberlyband.com. 59. Nicolet National Bank The Nicolet National Bank family thinks it is lovely weather for a sleigh ride together, as employees and their families are riding in a wonderland of snow. The Nicolet family is riding down College Avenue in a sleigh pulled by a team of draft horses, while Christmas carols fill the air. This is Nicolet Bank’s 2nd year in the Christmas Parade. Happy Holidays from everyone at Nicolet National Bank. 60. NAMI – Fox Valley Next up, the NAMI Fox Valley float entry titled ―Dreamers of Hope‖. Here we see a dreamer sleeping peacefully, dreaming of health and wellness, joy, peace, and hope. The dreams are being represented by the different people in costumes symbolizing these universal dreams. 61. ROCKS – Gerritts Middle School Here is the float entry from Gerritts Middle School – ROCKS, titled ―Christmas Dream – for every child to be drug and alcohol free‖. On the float are mountains all lit up with the climbers all around, ―Reaching their Dreams‖. At Gerritts Middle School, there are 550 kids who have signed the pledge and committed to remain tobacco, drug and alcohol free.
62. Weyauwega-Fremont High School Marching Band Under the direction of Chris Lembke, listen to the sounds of Tom Wallace’s ―Santa’s Parade‖ performed by the 60 plus member band hailing from Weyauwega-Fremont High School Marching Band. 63. KidStage KidStage, a national youth theatre company, ―Where Every Kid’s A Star!‖ has performers here tonight dressed in lit holiday costumes celebrating with us. 64. Eternal Love Lutheran Church "Eternal Love Lutheran Church and Hands 2 Grow Puppet Ministries are thrilled to once again participate in the Appleton Christmas parade. This year's float is titled 'Wise Men Still Follow the Dream' and depicts the three Wise Men of Biblical times pursuing their dream as they set out on their journey, following the star in the East, to worship the Christ child. Eternal Love and Hands 2 Grow invite you to share the passion of the Wise Men as we celebrate the birth of Christ this Christmas!" 65. Hortonville High School Marching Band The Hortonville High School Polar Bear Marching Band, under the direction of Greg Forton and Andrew Schmidt, are proud to be representing the communities of Hortonville, Greenville, Stephensville, Center, Grand Chute, Dale, Ellington, Mackville, and Hortonia. This band of over 240 students has chosen music especially fitting for Appleton’s ―Avenue of Angels‖. The band would like to thank their parents and communities for support throughout the year. 66. Fox Valley Ballooning Fox Valley Ballooning is ―Dreaming about Christmas in July‖. The air temperature on this float makes it feel more like July then November! The decorations also fit the part; it is a mix of summer fun, and classic Christmas. Fox Valley Ballooning is making their fifth consecutive appearance in the parade, and has been selected three times as the winner of the Bernie
Pearlman Memorial trophy. Fox Valley Ballooning would like to thank MW Trucking and Appleton Northsider and Southsider Citgo. They are providing the 200 plus gallons of propane that will be burned during the parade tonight. 67. Heid Music Here is Heid Music with their float themed "Dreaming of a Rock and Roll Christmas‖, these folks sure know how to make the holidays rock! Harold Carlson and Jonathan Leahy are jamming to some of our favorite Christmas songs. All I want for Christmas is right here - giant candy canes, flashy silver tinsel, and an electric guitar. Happy Holidays from everyone at Heid Music! 68. The Salvation Army This year, in keeping with the parade theme of ―Christmas Dreams‖, The Salvation Army is highlighting the contributions of the community through the ministries of the Salvation Army that make ―Christmas Dreams‖ come true. On the float, we see the Christmas efforts of Adopt-A-Family, with presents, and oversized toys. Coats for Kids, with an oversized coat a Christmas kettle with bell ringers from WFRV and local Corps Officers Majors Jose and Annette Tamayo in uniform. Lastly, on the float, we see a small forest of pine trees representing the Christmas efforts of Angel Trees…Making Christmas Dreams Come True. 69. Military Cadets Color Guard Here are the Military Cadets of the Fox Valley, a community based career exploration program for youth ages twelve to seventeen. The unit has been serving the state of Wisconsin for the past fifteen years, and in 2005 became a unit of the American Cadet Alliance, the nation’s oldest military cadet program. 70. Appleton North High School Marching Band Here we hear the sounds of the Appleton North High School Marching Band, along with flags and cheerleaders, we have 180+ members from Appleton North High School, under the directions of James Thaldorf. 71. Santa
Do you see what I see? Here comes Santa Claus. Santa, a favorite for every boy and girl young and old is here tonight to celebrate with everyone in Downtown Appleton. Along with Santa are his little helpers tonight, getting everything ready just in time for Christmas. 72.
