ISFC 2010 Proposal Submission Instructions
Submission Information Proposals must be submitted online (only) no later than midnight (PST) January 29, 2010. The online system for proposal submission is now open. A review of the proposals will be conducted by members of the Program Committee supported by an international panel of experts in systemic functional linguistics. All accepted proposals will be confirmed by March 15, 2010 at the latest.
Papers Proposals for regular papers may address the congress theme1, but also any other areas related to systemic functional linguistics. Workshops In addition, we are inviting proposals for workshops, to be held on Wednesday, July 21. Workshops can be a full day (from 10:30 on, after a plenary), or half day (morning or afternoon). We encourage the organization of workshops of different types: workshops that explore analysis, data description or methodology; symposia around a theme; or meetings of researchers with common interests (for instance, description of a particular language). Organizers are welcome to issue their own calls for papers, or to invite additional speakers within their workshop. Workshops will be accepted according to space availability, on a first-come-first-served basis. Wednesday will also feature a substantial strand for teachers, comprising teacherfocussed workshops and research papers in language education. We encourage teachers who are exploring the use of SFL in classrooms, K through to adult contexts, to propose workshops designed to share their insights. Proposals for workshops should contain a brief description of the theme and the goals of the workshop.
Please note: ISFC 2010 proposal submissions are text only, up to 1800 characters (roughly 330 words) in length. Please note that the proposal must be typed directly into the online system; text cannot be copied and pasted. Scientific notation or special characters (i.e. accents) can be added once on the site.
