East Lyme Superintendent Search – Community Forum: February 10, 2009, 7:30 p.m. @ the East Lyme High School
School Media Center. All parents and members of the East Lyme community are invited.
PTA NEWS
Our next PTA meeting is on February 10th. The format will be slightly different to allow for the schools budget
presentation by Dr Paul Smotas. We will start at 7pm and open with the 3rd grade teachers, followed by Dr. Miko.
Dr. Smotas will present and take questions from 7.30pm. Once budget discussions are completed we will briefly
cover any other business.

The last forum evening for discussions on the requirements for the new Superintendent is also on this evening, so
apologies for this clash but with other events and the February vacation week it has proved too difficult to change the
date. If you want to attend the PTA meeting and learn about the East Lyme Schools budget but also want your
opinion heard regarding the new superintendent position, you can submit your views in writing on the form found on
the East Lyme Schools website. I hope to see you at the meeting—Thanks, Paula Page, LBH PTA President

FINAL BOX TOP SUBMISSION DATE FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR IS APPROACHING! We will be
mailing in the school's second and final submission of box tops at the end of February, so please dig out, cut, trim,
and check expiration dates on all those box tops you still have at home. We request you try to have them in by
Tuesday, Feb. 24th in order to allow us time to organize and bag the box tops by the deadline of Feb. 28th. You can
still continue to send in box tops throughout the remainder of the year, and they will be submitted in the fall. Thank
you for supporting this easy and free fundraiser for our school! Next submission date for BoxTops is the end of
this month, which will be the final submission for this school year, so please get box tops sitting at home in by
Feb. 24th.
