Toyo Tire U.S.A. Welcomes a New President
Employee Training… It’s a New Year
ToyoTires.com Gets a New Look
A L ETTER FROM
To my new U.S. family and many longtime friends, I write this first letter in Connect magazine
with optimism and excitement for our Toyo Tires brand in the U.S. Since last serving with Toyo Tire
U.S.A. in the late 1990’s, there has been remarkable growth of our brand, both in this country and
Once perceived as being a niche brand for the sport compact market, our tires are now highly desired in all market segments
including light truck, luxury touring and crossover. This is a testament to Toyo Tires’ design innovation which has led to tires that
deliver reduced noise during operation, better fuel economy and better handling performance. Our confidence shines through with
both the No Regrets trial offer and competitive mileage warranties available on nearly every passenger and light truck tire.
Technology and advanced production techniques have also allowed us to keep pace with specialized tire segments created by
today’s vehicle designs, from crossovers to fuel-efficient vehicles. In fact, some of our product designs have created new trends, one
example being our high-performance tires for sport pickups and SUV’s.
Of course, once the tires are developed we must get them produced and out to dealers. International expansion of the Toyo Tires
brand has been significant within the period of just one year. We have increased the capacity of our U.S. plant in Georgia, finalized the
acquisition of Silverstone Tyre in Malaysia, and held the opening ceremony on December 8 for our newest plant in China. Toyo Tire
(Zhangjiagang) Co., Ltd. located near Shanghai, is a low energy consumption factory which uses highly automated production
technology. It is considered a cornerstone toward building a global production and supply structure for our brand.
Back in the U.S., I feel both honored and privileged to serve as president & CEO of Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. I look forward to meeting
you and hearing your input as we continue our journey to sell and expand this truly great brand —Toyo Tires.

TOYO TIRES IN THE NEWS
BRASS TACKS BLAZER SHOWS SOME SKIN AT SEMA
When Jason Mulligan, feature editor for Street Trucks
magazine, selected tires for the Brass Tacks Blazer project truck,
he requested the Toyo Proxes ST II for its style and performance.
With its body removed, extensive detail work went into the
chassis of the truck, beginning with a fully customized frame
which houses an elaborate air bag suspension system. A fuel
cell feeds gas to the dressed-out Chevy LS engine, and the one-
off billet wheels are wrapped in 22-inch Proxes ST II tires.
In fact, the finish is so amazing the rolling chassis was put on
display at the 2011 SEMA Show.
Without revealing any more secrets, look for the full story on

VERSADO ECO MAKES THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE
When Marianne Boland of Wesley Chapel, Florida decided to replace the
tires on her 2006 Hyundai Sonata, she upgraded to a luxury tire that is also
environmentally-friendly, the Versado Eco. Of course, there may have been
some influence by her son-in-law, Toyo’s own Marc Sanzenbacher, senior
manager of the competition performance products division.
Diligently tracking her fuel mileage, Boland has seen a 12.6% increase in
her gas mileage since installing her Versado Ecos. That equates to an
additional 2.45 mpg of fuel economy.
“For the average person driving 15,000 miles annually, that is a savings of
$260.00+ based on $3 per gallon gas,” said Sanzenbacher. “Not to mention
she absolutely loves the ride quality and low road noise of the tire.”
This real-world experience easily demonstrates that money can be saved
in the long run by installing a premium quality, luxury tire product such as the

THE 2012 DAKAR™ BROUGHT TOYO TIRES TO THE WORLD STAGE

Running from January 1st through the 15th, the Dakar spanned the South
American continent from the Atlantic Coast of Argentina, to the Pacific Coast
of Peru. It began in Mar Del Plata in Argentina, swept through Chile, and
then finished in Lima, Peru. The route of the 2012 Dakar consisted of 14-
stages and covered more than 5,000 miles.
Robby Gordon’s Team SPEED had two HUMMERS entered in the event,
one driven by Gordon, the other by former Dakar winner, Nasser Al-Attiyah.
Featured each night on the NBC Sports Network, the Open Country M/T-R
equipped HUMMERS captured five stage wins and a total of ten podiums,
with Gordon finishing fifth overall. He was also the only two-wheel-drive
vehicle in the top ten.
Through it all, the Toyo Tires logo was prominently displayed

SIMPLE SOLUTIONS FOR PROPERLY
One question that is often asked on the consumer support
line is “how do I properly store my tires?”
The question comes from two very different groups of people - those who rotate from summer
or all-season tires to winter tires annually, and those with competition tires.
The key to maintaining “healthy” tires that are ready when you need them is to follow the simple
storage tips below for conventional and competition tires. The chemical make-up and construction
of these tires are very different, yet similar rules apply for proper storage. The tips found here will Fahrenheit (-9 degrees Centigrade).

An essential component in the development of any commercial tire product, either new or ongoing, is an established
