Student comes top nationally
Student Jo Fraser pictured far right was presented with a cut glass decanter and glasses by Penny Randall from the IAB (International Association of Book-keepers). Also pictured with Jo is tutor Sue Mogridge who joined the lunch held to celebrate this magnificent achievement.
RISING STARZ!
Over sixty singers gathered to audition for Rising Starz, an ‘X’ factor style show. The competition was open to anyone over the age of 16 and the finals of the show went out live on Internet TV and FM Radio. In true ‘X’ factor style auditionees sang to three judges who made comments and decided that the singers were either ‘Through’ or ‘Rejected’. The competition was won by Charlee Simmons currently studying for a Foundation Degree in Performing Arts.
Clipper Saw donation helps shape the future
Aldershot College is now the proud owner of a new clipper saw. This fantastic piece of equipment was donated by the Guildford & District Construction Industry Training Group who are keen supporters of the College. The picture shows Mike Poulter presenting the College Principal, Christine Davis, with the clipper saw.
Summer 2009 Edition
The Great Mall Run
Students and staff from all departments took the opportunity to stage a sprinting competition along the College’s longest corridor to raise money for Parity (people with multiple disabilities) and also to promote healthy living. The College has one of the longest corridors of any educational establishment in the UK, nearly 300m long. A total of £700 was raised.
Parachute jump in aid of charity
Student Phil Glover, a BSc Media Production Degree Student, made a film of the parachuting event with ex student Kerry Preston who now works for BBC Radio Surrey. Kerry made the jump in honor of her Uncle whom she lost to cancer last year. In total they raised £1,000 for Bowel Cancer UK.

Students on work experience
College students not only work with local companies, they also get the opportunity to work in different departments of the College as part of their work experience.

Work on the Technology building is progressing well. Below shows how the building has come along since the last edition of college id. The new building is set to open in January.
Students collaborate to make a video
National Diploma students studying TV and Music joined forces to produce a music video. The event was filmed in Portsmouth.
