On November 3, 2009, Springfield Public Schools
will ask voters to approve a no-tax-increase bond
issue that will leverage federal stimulus money to
fund air conditioning, construction improvements,
and technology. Please help PTA support this
bond issue that will COST YOU NOTHING by
getting out and voting on November 3, 2009. More

Dress in Spirit During Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Spirit Week is October 26-30. Be sure to show your spirit by wearing these fun things on
each day:
Monday, October 26: “Saying no to drugs is no sweat!” Wear comfy clothes.
Tuesday, October 27: “Sock it to drugs!” Wear crazy socks!
Wednesday, October 28: “Get RED-y to make good decisions!” Wear red.
Thursday, October 29: “Stay in the game. Be drug free!” Wear a hat and your favorite sports teams’
colors or clothes.
Friday, October 30: “That’s the spirit, stay drug-free!” Wear Disney attire or blue and white.

PTA Still Need Volunteers
PTA is still in need of the following committee chairpersons and “head” room parent/grandparents:

                               PTA Membership Challenge Update
   October Dates:              Thank you to everyone who joined PTA. We met the state's "early-
 October 16 - Box Tops         bird deadline" with 332 individual memberships 21 business
and All Other Labels Due       memberships. Congratulations to these 11 classes that won a
                               popcorn party for reaching 100% class participation:
    October 21 - RIF           Brown (K), Gott (K), Baker (1), Barnes/Gerschefske (1), Petiford
       Distribution            (1), Setzer (1), Biellier (2), Teters (3), Emry (4), Simmon (4),
                               VanBokhoven (4).
October 22 - Picture Day
                               Weller Project Update
     October 23 -              A big thank you to those who have donated to the Weller Project.
 Two-Hour Early Release        We are always accepting donations, especially Fall/Winter clothing
                               for boys and girls, K-5. Other great items for the store include:
                               Halloween costumes and accessories, toys, jewelry, Pokemon cards,
