Banfield Charitable Trust is looking for community-wide projects that make life better for Pets and their families. Special consideration will be given to collaborative projects with Pet-related organizations, veterinary education programs, and Banfield Pet Hospital(s) working together to uphold our mission. The Banfield Charitable Trust’s funding priorities are:      Promotion of preventive healthcare for Pets Educating children about veterinary medicine and the Pets they love (See special requirements in section E) Programs based on the human-Pet bond and how it relates to longer, healthier lives for Pets and people Veterinary school education programs that help veterinary students or licensed veterinarians learn or improve their skills Disaster preparedness and response (See special requirements in section F)

The Banfield Charitable Trust does not fund:        Spay and neuter or adoption programs. (Note: We will consider requests for programs that protect against preventable disease for Pets that are in families or Pets that are ready and going to adoption.) General operating expenses, deficit reduction, or general administrative overhead expenses. Fundraising campaigns, including special events. Grants to individuals, or to provide support for business enterprise. Equine programs International programs Construction costs for new buildings or remodeling proposals

Financial Guidelines The Banfield Charitable Trust prefers grant applications from small and medium sized nonprofits. However, if your operating budget is greater than $5,000,000, the project budget for which you are seeking funding must be less than $250,000. As a previous grant recipient, there are guidelines outlining how much you may request based on length of time you have been receiving funding from the Banfield Charitable Trust. These rules apply even if you are applying for a new project. If you received funding for one year, you may apply for 25% of your qualified project budget If you received funding for two years, you may apply for 20% of your qualified project budget If you received funding for three or more years, you may apply for 10% of your qualified project budget If your request is in line with our funding priorities and financial guidelines, all applicants must submit the following: I.
