This set was issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the first All-Star game in 1933. The cards feature sepia player photos on front, with a facsimile autograph and appropriate commemorative labeling. Each Baseball Immortals Picture Postcard Book contains 32 rare vintage photos of some of baseballs greatest players ever. These outstanding pictures are by baseball’s premier photographer Charles Conlon from 1905 through 1935. Each page contains four postcards with a short biography on the back. In 1983 the Sporting News selected 12 players from over 8,000 glass negatives from the Conlon Collection for its 1984 calendar. This calendar can be used again in 2012 when the months and days of the week match 1984. The players selected, one per month typify the roster of the Conlon Collection. It includes the great hitters, great sluggers, great pitchers, great managers and even the great fielders. The 12 players portrayed in order by month starting with January. Released in conjunction with a Wisconsin Historical Society exhibit on the 1957 and 1982 series, this 96-card set commemorates the accomplishments of that extraordinary team. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Milwaukee Brewers in 1994 Miller Brewing Co and the Milwaukee Brewers issued a set of cards of every player that played for the Milwaukee Brewers from 1970 thru 1994. The set was produced in four booklets of 94 cards each for a total of 376 cards. Individual 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" cards were perforated for easy detachment from the 7" X 13" booklets. Cards feature black and white player photos against a gold border. Backs are in black and white and include a few biographical bits, a line of career stats, the years played with the Brewers and team and brewery logos. Individual cards are unnumbered. The Pilots served one year in the American League and later became the Milwaukee Brewers.
