The duties contained within this job description must be carried out in accordance with all
college policies, working practices and regulations as agreed by the Governing Body and the
funding bodies (eg Financial Regulations, Health & Safety Policy, Single Equality Scheme, the
College Framework and Legislation).
This job description sets out the duties of the post at the time of preparation but these may vary. Any changes

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure that college data can be used as quality information that will meet the needs of the college and external
agencies. To ensure complete, accurate and timely data so that funding returns or statistical reports are available
in an appropriate format and presentation style. To ensure the effective operation of all MIS information systems
including the college student information system, Pro-achieve and any associated software.
To be fully conversant with the methodologies, data collection requirements and audit guidelines of external
1 funding agencies, including any associated projects/contracts.
To produce the ILR on a regular basis and inform the Student Data team of all errors to be corrected and
2 queries for investigation from the Learner Information Suite (LIS) and Data Self Assessment Toolkit (DSAT).
3 To ensure a valid ILR is prepared and available for the MIS Manager to submit at each relevant deadline.
4 To maintain and update Pro-achieve at regular intervals and report any data issues to the MIS team.
To check for new updates at regular intervals with regards to software and data files to ensure the ILR uses
5 and as a result provides up-to-date information.
To create, amend and update accurate and timely statistical reports with analysis and interpretation to
6 agreed schedules, including the interrogation of external systems to help understand any new methodology.
To liaise with the MIS team in order to develop, enhance and implement core MIS systems and provide
7 reporting and data analyst solutions, including providing training on such systems.
Develop and support an information culture by liaising with key areas and staff in articulating information
8 needs, and by training staff in the use of information services.
To provide an excellent customer service and participate in CPD activities, attend conferences and
appropriate user groups.
