A light-emitting diode, better known as LED, is a semiconductor light source whose usage in the lightning
industry has increased manifold. There are many reasons that act as an advantage for the LED light
manufacturers to incorporate this electronic component into lights that are used every day.

The initial LED lights that were manufactured emitted red light which was of low-intensity, but the recent versions
have taken this to an entirely new level. They make use of all the three wavelength bandwidths i.e. the visible
range, the ultraviolet and the infrared wavelengths and emit light that has very high brightness.

The LED lights find their usage in diversified applications such as aviation lighting due to their high brightness,
automotive lightning, advertising, general lightning and even for traffic signals. The advanced communications
technology also makes use of this technology and LED light manufacturers have to be on their toes always,
due to the increase in the demand of such lights. The main factor that attributes to this high usability is the fact
that they have high switching rates.

Generally speaking we, as consumers, use LED lights in our everyday lives, too. The infrared ones find their
way into the remote control units of commercial appliances. Even the display of electronic devices uses these
lights. And how can we forget CFL’s. These lights have actually attributed to the increase in demand of such
lights.

There are many advantages associated with these lights that make us use them all the more. Power saving is
the main factor is this category. The more you make use of these lights, the more you save on your electricity
bills.

Till a few years ago, you might have seen such lights in a large physical form, but with the advancements in
technology, these lights can now be found in nano forms, as well. There are various types of LED lights found
these days. Some of them are LED strips, LED strips and bars, LED bulbs, Automotive LED bulbs, etc.

LED light manufacturers have a tedious job at hand, as to give precision to the size of the bulbs, keeping the
intensity of the light. Decorations for various occasions are created using such lights for their better luminance
and show. Emitting brightness at the highest level, LED lights have their future bright as well. The manufacturers
have to regularly innovate and bring in new designs using the various colored LED lights to lure in more
customers.
The life of a normal LED light is 50 times more than a standard Halogen light globe. They are more efficient and
produce extra light per watt as compared to incandescent bulbs. They are easily and frequently used for
appliances that have subject to an on-off cycle. They even emit less heat that can cause potential damage to
fabrics and objects. Since, they are solid state components; they are difficult to damage with external shocks.
Also, they do not contain mercury and are thus less toxic.

All said and done, LED lights are here to stay and will increasingly find their usage in more and more electrical
and electronic components. Lightning up the world with better illumination is what makes them more useful.
