							SoftWhere Asia/Pacific
April – June 2009

Global multinational firms still view Asia/Pacific as a region of growth, despite a slowdown in IT spending. This is due to a number of factors including key improvements within certain countries’ political environment—for example, the liberalization of the Malaysian economy and India’s recent election focus on economic growth. Organizations are continuing to invest in Asia with key growth areas in the SaaS, Open Source and Virtualization space. Ongoing spending by public sector and technology infrastructure projects will also give solution providers the right opportunity to explore new investments. Organizations are lowering upfront costs to maintain a competitive edge. They are taking the opportunity to improve the quality of leadership teams through restructuring and redeployment of current staff to increase efficiency and establish better managed environments. As a result of the strong focus on talent acquisition and management strategies, there have been a large number of moves within the Software sector.
