Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior
Students have been taught the school rules for classroom and non-classroom settings. If a child does not follow one of the three school rules, the following procedure is followed: 1. General Verbal Warning with reminder about appropriate behavior. 2. Individual Verbal Warning with reminder about appropriate behavior. 3. Student completes a Self-Assessment Form to evaluate the reason for their behavior and to consider alternate behaviors. Consequences may be imposed by the teacher. 4. If the behavior does : not improve, parent will be notified. *Certain
actions warrant immediate administrative involvement such as fighting, using inappropriate language, possession of contraband or weapons, harassment and threats.
Bobcat Tickets
Students who are following the school rules in the various locations of the school can earn Bobcat Tickets. Tickets are given by staff to students in to acknowledge their positive behavior. Once received, the tickets go into a classroom box for a daily drawing for classroom-based incentives such as being the line leader the next day. All tickets from each grade level are saved for the week and a drawing will be held each Monday morning. Three students in each grade level will receive prizes from the office treasure box. Welcome to Stevens Forest Elementary School!
The staff of Stevens Forest Elementary is focused on working with students and their families to promote positive behavior in all school settings. We have three school rules which are reinforced BE RESPECTFUL daily. BE RESPONSIBLE BE READY

Be Respectful
Classroom: Use positive language when responding to others.
How is this program different from other school behavior programs? The program is focused on acknowledging students for consistent positive behavior. Teachers are acknowledged for noticing positive student behavior. Routines and language with respect to appropriate school behavior are consistent throughout the school. All students are rewarded with a Bobcat Bonanza Celebration after twenty school days with no student office referrals.

When the school rules are followed students have an opportunity to be recognized for their efforts by receiving Bobcat Tickets or by participating in our Bobcat Bonanza Celebrations. When school rules are not followed, specific consequences result based on the behavior.
