You are going to be making your very own electronic cookbook. This is your cookbook that will be filled with recipes you like. There will be some guidelines for your cookbook but there will be a lot of room for creativity.
Requirements
Recipes: In the 10 categories you must have 3 recipes for each section. You need to find recipes you like or ones that look good to you. Some great places to look for recipes would be other cookbooks, Internet, and your family members. Each recipe needs to be typed in the same format so all recipes can be read easily. You need to use these categories but you may add any sections that you would like. Appetizers & Snacks Meat & Main dish Beverages Pasta & Rice Bread Salad, Soups, & Sandwiches Bars, Cookies, & Candies Vegetables & Side dishes Cakes, Desserts & Pies Miscellaneous Layout: Everything must be typed in an easy to read font. There will need to be a table of content. Make sure to label everything. When typing the recipes make sure that the whole recipe is on the same page or it is very clear that there is a second page. Kitchen Safety: - Safety tips – a list of 15 different rules to follow when in the kitchens - Kitchen fires - explain the different between electrical and grease fire, give the steps to put out both types of fires - Food storage –Thermometer – picture of the danger zone Kitchen Tips: List the following kitchen tips for each section. Baking tips – 7 tips Microwave food tips – 7 tips Cooking at high altitudes – 7 tips How to measuring ingredients properly (liquid, flour, brown sugar, fat, etc.) Abbreviations chart Measurement equations chart – tablespoons to cup Substitutions Food guide pyramid – picture And any other sections you may want to put in Definitions: You need to make a glossary for your cookbook. The list of cooking terms from earlier this semester will need to be placed in the cookbook.

Open up new PowerPoint presentation Tile page – type in your title page Pick design – you will want to decide this early because each design will change where words will show up at Add new page o Create title page – make buttons for o Create subtitle pages (recipes) – make buttons that will go on each sub title page – do not hyperlink until all information is placed into the PowerPoint because pages may change their location o Start adding information on pages and recipes pages o Keep pages in order to how they will be graded Title page Sub title pages Recipes pages – look at grading sheet to see order Etc. Buttons o At the button – click auto shape o Pick style of button you would like o Go back to bottom – click textbox o Click in the middle of the button – type the word you want Hyperlink o Highlight the word or have mouse in the button o Right click o Click on – hyperlink o Click on – place in this document Pick the slide you want to link to o Click – ok o Problem – make sure to spell every word out and have no commons in titles of pages and in the words you are trying to hyperlink Copy buttons o Click on button so the box around shows up o Click Ctrl & C – to copy o Go to the new page and click Ctrl & V – to paste

Open up shared folder o Click on Poppe o See folder title Grading – you will not be able to open this up Then open up your folder Make sure you see both boxes side by side Make sure title your cookbook with your name Drag your cookbook and drop it into the grading folder
