									This document sets forth a company's overtime authorization policy for non-exempt
employees. It provides that non-exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay and
establishes the rate for overtime pay. Furthermore, it requires advance supervisor
approval for overtime. This policy should be reviewed and customized to meet the
specific needs of the company using it and to make sure that all state requirements are
met. This document should be used by employers and provided to their employees.
          Overtime Authorization Policy for Nonexempt Employees

Non-Exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay. Overtime pay is paid to non-exempt
employees at the rate of one and one-half times the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay for
each hour or portion of an hour (rounded to the nearest tenth of an hour) worked in excess of
forty hours per workweek. For this purpose, the workweek begins at 12:01 a.m. Sunday and ends
at 11:59 p.m. Saturday. Overtime must be authorized and approved by your supervisor in
