GAMERS CLUB
MISSION STATEMENT The Gamers Club was created to unite gamers of Ocean County College. The club will feature video games, board games, sports games and card games. This club is also a great way to met new friends, start friendly rivalries and discuss important topics in the video game industry.
Becoming a Full Member:
All students are welcome to become a full member of the club. In order to become a full member, you must attend at 1 leader club meetings and have participated in an event for at least one semester. Gamers Club meetings will be held at Conference Room A in the Ocean County College Bookstore. People who are members of the club or non-members that are simply there for recreation must sign-in. (The sign-in sheet is used not only to keep track of active members, but also as a means to contact any members if important issues arise.) If there is any trouble finding the sign-in sheet, ask a Club Leader for assistance. Due to a limited amount of food, most refreshments offered will be for full members only. Non-members will only be allowed bottled water. All members can chip in money to help buy food during meetings, including Club Leaders. We also encourage full and non-members to bring new ideas and games to play during meetings.
Gamer meetings:
Gamer meetings allow people to come in for gaming and relaxation. Also, during these meetings, we allow members to host their own small tournaments so that other members can practice events, tournaments, leagues, and gaming clans for their favorite games. Gamers are allowed to bring any type of game the feel.
Club Leaders and Leader meetings:
Club leaders play a key part in hosting tournaments and events. To be offered a club leader position; you must first be a full time member of the club. Leaders are either chosen through a voting process by full members during club meetings or are chosen by other club leaders that particular members are showing hard work and leadership skills. Once chosen, it is important that club leaders are to show up to club meetings when scheduled. If a club leader cannot attend a club meeting, it is important that he/she notifies the club president or other club leaders about their absence. In addition, if a club leader misses a meeting, they must take personal reasonability in finding out what was discussed
during that day. Failure to notify any leaders of their absence will put a leader’s status at risk, and is possible for a club leader to lose their position as club leader. Gamers Club highly builds on respect for both members and club leaders alike.
Tolerance Policy:
All members must follow the Ocean County College tolerance policy (revise to O.C.C. Handbook). Within our Club there will be no. Fighting or provoking of any kind Racial Slurs Sexual Harassment or any gestures of any kind. Drinking Gambling Weapons Drugs Thievery Stealing Anything offending of personal, ethnic, or religious background. Vandalism of school or any other property of use.
Any member that performs illegal activities that can danger the integrity and safety of the club/college will be banned. These acts will be turn immediately towards school officials
Education Standards:
Education is far more important then gaming. If your grades aren’t up to par, please do not attend club meetings. It is require that all members must keep up a least a 2.0 average or Higher. To be in position of leadership, you must have and maintain 3.0 average or higher. Failed to maintain standards will be suspended from club activities until member’s grades are up and further notice. Leaders will be suspended as well as loose their position if requirements are not meant
Tournaments and Events:
Our club hosts a variety of games for both casual and hardcore gamers alike. Most of the events taking place will be video game tournaments. The type of game tournaments will depend on the popularity of the games among club members and college students. Tournaments hosted by the Gamers club will be for full members and non-members. A limited number of non-members will be permitted to join tournaments, but there may be some exceptions depending on
the game and type of tournament match. Tournaments being held by the Gamers Club are mainly for fundraising purposes. Some other events may include “Theme days” where Gamers club meetings revolve around a particular game or game genre (Ex: March Madness college basket ball theme, FPS game day theme, etc.). Members will focus one only 2 games at our events depending on the type of events that is being hosted. Be advised to stay alert if a tournament or event becomes cancelled or postponed.
Cabinet Position
Positions within the gamers club are offered only leadership meetings. There are seven seats open within the cabinet. President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Advertise leader, Web master leader, and event leader. All leaders must maintain positive and clean positive appearance of the school and self. During Election Day held on 1st leadership meeting, Members are open to cast their bid in the many or position that are offered. Members will plead their case towards the public in why they will be the perfect choice to hold that position (resume during this meeting can help ad your plea but is not recommended). Once all members have pitched their campaign, the people will vote or who is right for the position.
President/ Vice President
The primary role as club president is to lead your club. To ensure that the club functions effectively, an effective president is able to Sustain and increase its membership base Implement successful projects and events that bring a positive outlook to the organization, school, and community. Charge of guiding and developing leadership and making insure that leaders within cabinet get projects done on time and executed to best of efficiency. Must be able to inspire and motivate confidence with all of our members.
Must show grace and balance. Never to quick to judge, but never to hesitate show order at any time. Must be open to all ideas and suggestions. Once all leaders and members have shared their opinion, the President has the final say in which opinions (if any) should be implemented.
The President must keep the flow off the entire operation. Leaders that fail to keep up with deadlines, meetings or both could through off the flow and balance with all other sections within the club. Presidential term President is only allowed to serve for 2 years during their attendance at Ocean County College. During the last 4th term semester of the presidents second year, the position may be past down to the Vice President. If the President does not fill that the Vice President is suited for the position, elections must be hold. If elections amongst the members and leaders are not held before May, the Vice President must uphold the duties and responsibility of the President position. President impeachment If the President has not fulfill the qualities of their position, leader and members can come together to impeach the president. This process can only happen during scheduled leader meetings. Budget planning Both former and new president along with leaders should begin budget planning for next year. Secretary
Secretary Job is record and keeps documents on gamer meetings. It is important that everything is well document for anything that was mention during meetings for future references. He or she must have any type of log with them at every meeting or any important outings they should be well organized and prepared. They will also be in charge of the secluding meetings and events as well the information is received trough student life. Failure to maintain these requirements could cause loss in position.
Treasurer
Treasurers Job is to take care of all financial matters within the club. He or she will keep records within the budget. He or she will collect, deposit and expend funds for the club as requested and authorized by the president. They will be in charge of all money handles at every event. By the end of every semester, President and Treasure will go over and review the books to insure that money is in place for next semester events. On information on budget planning please conduct with student Life. Before you undertake any fund-raising efforts, clarify why you need the money; then determine how much outside funding is required, and how soon it is needed. Remember, too, the membership must support the project -- it must be worth the investment of time and money. Failure to maintain these requirements could cause loss in position.
Special Club positions
Of last Semester, the club has been trying to reach abroad campus to and has been trying to get people around to community join with our activities. In hopes to expand the club created these positions so work can be divided up equally amongst members. Their will be a main leader appointed within these special groups. It will be his or her job as leader to make sure that any task by the committee gets done on time.
Advertise leader
Advertisement leader job is to create new and important campaigns to better promote our organization. In charge of design many important lime items (Buttons, banners, Stickers, etc.) He or she must attend meetings and give reports on progress on projects. Failure to meet requirements can put your position in jeopardy; leading towards demotion on position
Event planner
As event planner is in charge of in setting up the event. Make sure the equipment is tested and working properly. Well organized that guest can move into and around the area.
That he or she works well and closely with leaders and members around them. In charge of food perpetration at event. Enforces rules at event. Insure that guest are comfortable and are having fun.
The event planner must guide his team to ensure that everything goes well at our events. He or she must know what is happening during all times as well as adapt to last minuet changes. Failure to meet these requirements can put your position in jeopardy; leading towards demotion on position.
Web advisor
Work has began on the clubs own personal website. Web advisor must be able to monitor the website often. Add pictures, blogs, videos, etc. to make fun and entraining. Overall structure of site should reflect the university's organization, user demands, and intuitiveness Web support is a team effort. A Webmaster must lead that team. Page design must be consistent, simple, and logical. It should not be a distraction. Cross navigation. There should be no dead-end pages.
Failure to maintain these could lead to lost in position.
