					THE NIGHTINGALE FUND

The Nightingale Fund is a University of Stirling discretionary fund for students studying for a nursing and
midwifery qualification who find themselves in financial difficulty. Grants from this fund do not have
to be repaid and are in addition to any other forms of student support.

Who can apply?
  > Nursing and midwifery students at University of Stirling and
  > Who are fully enrolled and
  > Have taken out the full support available from SAAS or relevant funding authority.

What documents must I provide?
  > Photocopies of all your bank statements for the last two months (and for your partner
    if relevant)
  > Photocopies for all the evidence we ask for on pages 4-7

We can not process your application without this information. Do not give us originals, we are
not able to return them.

Processing your application
If you submit your form with all the necessary documents, we aim to assess your application within
4 weeks. Alternatively, if you come to a speedy assessment session (Stirling campus only – see website
for times) with all the required documents, we aim to assess within a week. We will notify you by email of our
decision. While your application is in process, please check your University email regularly.

Payment of an award
The Finance Department pays the money to the bank account you gave us (page 3). This can take up to 21 days,
but is usually quicker, and will reach your account on a Wednesday.

How often can I apply?
You can only apply to the Nightingale Fund once per academic year. However, if your circumstances change, we
may be able to review your award. You can send a letter or email detailing the changes together with any related
documents to the Nightingale Fund. The timescale for this process is the same as initial applications to the funds.

    Appeals
