GUIDELINES FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS AND VIDEOGRAPHERS:

The following guidelines for weddings at Glenkirk Presbyterian Church were created by its pastors and staff, and are provided for the purpose of assisting the bridal couple and contracted vendors in making plans that are in keeping with the mission of the church. We request that you visit the church sometime before the wedding. 1. In order to preserve the dignity and propriety of the service, we ask you not to take flash photographs or to use any special lighting during the wedding ceremony. We do allow flash photographs from the kiss on and into the recessional. 2. During the ceremony, still photographers and videographers may take pictures from the narthex and the balcony only. You may not take pictures from the aisles during the processional or the ceremony. You may be in the aisle during recessional. You must be behind the guest at all times. 3. The bridal party and families may pose for pictures in the Sanctuary before and/or after the service. You must be out of sanctuary at least 1 hours before service begins as this time is reserved for sound set up and for musicians to warm up. The photography should be concluded in a reasonable period of time, usually no more than 30 minutes after the ceremony. 4. If the wedding reception is at the church, we ask you to take as many formal wedding pictures before the ceremony, to avoid keeping the guests waiting. 5. There are several attractive areas in the Sanctuary building and on the church grounds for “photo opportunities”. We encourage you to take advantage of these areas. But please have your background set-ups out of sight by the time the guests arrive. If extra rooms are needed for photographic set-ups, they must be booked and paid for in advance. 6. Photographers and videographers will not be allowed in the changing rooms until the wedding parties are completely dressed. 7. We start weddings on time at Glenkirk! At least we try to. Your access to members of the wedding party should not interfere with their duties — such as dressing, greeting and ushering guests, etc., even if the wedding party is late in arriving at the church. 8. The use of any alcoholic beverages on the church grounds (including the parking areas) is strictly forbidden, therefore there won’t be any champagne toasts to photograph as the bridal couple leaves the church.

Please make sure that all members of your staff are appropriately dressed for the Discreet name tags with your company’s name are permitted, but other advertising is not allowed. 11. Written permission to exceed these guidelines must be obtained from the Wedding Director in advance of the wedding. If you have any questions about the guidelines of Glenkirk Presbyterian Church please feel free to call Kathy Forsythe, Glenkirk Wedding Director, at (626) 3396686).

GUIDELINES FOR FLORISTS: The following guidelines for weddings at Glenkirk Presbyterian Church were created by its pastors and staff, and are provided for the purpose of assisting the bridal couple and contracted vendors in making plans that are in keeping with the mission of the church. A visit to the church is recommended. 1. PLEASE don’t drive on our patio to deliver flowers! We suggest that delivery vehicles park in the parking lot off Sellers Street for closer access to the Sanctuary. 2. This church is our home. Please don’t stick nails or tacks or put tape on our furniture. Try to make sure that your flower containers don’t leak and spoil our carpeting or communion table. And don’t move our furnishings without checking with the Wedding Director first. 3. Please don’t block entrances, exits, or interior doorways of the buildings with decorations, and don’t obstruct the organist’s view of the sanctuary. 4. We provide the following and they are included in the wedding fees (their non-use does not reduce the fee, however): - Two brass flower stands: floor standing, height adjustable - Two brass 7- branch candelabra: floor standing, with candles - One brass 3 - branch candelabra: table standing, with candles - One guest book table (approximately 1 ft. x 3 ft., 30 in. high) - Tablecloth for guest book table - We have 22 candles with lanterns that may be rented for $10 a piece to go down the aisles. You may rent all or some. It takes 12 down the center aisle. 5 down each of the outer aisles. 5. Other candles are to be used only in accordance with the fire laws. 6. Decorations are allowed on the Communion table in the Chancel, in fact they are particularly attractive there. 7. Flower petals ( fake only) may be thrown in the Sanctuary or flower girl can carry a self-contained basket of flowers. Please make sure that the basket is not too heavy for a small child to carry for an extended period of time. If you use fake petals you are responsible to have some one pick all of them up. Play a game with the young kids and have them pick them up. They get picked up real fast. =) 8. Aisle runners are not recommended and are dangerest. If you do use one they have to be pinned down very securely. This is for the brides protection. 9. The use of live animals in the church buildings is not permitted.

Pew bows and other decorations will be thrown away after the ceremony unless other arrangements are made with the Wedding Director. 13. Wedding flowers should be removed from the church after the ceremony. They are not required to remain for Saturday or Sunday services. 14.
