October 24 – November 6, 2005 Be Afraid… Be Very, Very Afraid It’s the spookiest, scariest, creepiest, most frightening, chilling, terrifying, and bloodcurdling e-notebook to date…OK, OK, I say the same thing every year…but it’s true…and besides, this year, I added one more very…so watch out! Do not, I repeat, do not read this edition in the dark (if the lights were out, how could you see?)! Grab some candy corn and a cup of apple cider and enjoy. If you don’t like this edition of e-notebook, well, you’ve got bats in your belfry! P.S. – Some of the entries below are real…some are frighteningly fake! But you’ll have to read to find out which is witch. BREAKING NEWS It Pays to Read! ITP/ASL Society Donates to Deaf School The Interpreter Training Program’s (ITP) Sign Language Society recently donated $500 to the Louisiana School for the Deaf in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The students were able to donate this money from funds raised from their American Sign Language Rock and Roll Show that took place on October 1. The Louisiana School for the Deaf needed donations in response to the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The School opened its doors to students' families and to members of the Deaf community who had been displaced and provided food, clothing, shelter, and an appropriate communication environment. (weather permitting) CAUGHT IN THE ACT The Perp: Arresting Office: Precinct: Joe Cutaia Pat LaVigne Security The Incident: On Friday, October 7, when I was leaving the Campus entrance of the Library at 1:00 p.m., I noticed Joe driving the security vehicle down the sidewalk towards the Library. At first I wondered why he was riding his vehicle among the students at such a busy time. Then I saw him stop by a student who was walking with crutches. He pulled up to her before she reached the stairs at the side of the Library and asked her if she would like a ride to the parking lot. The student's face lit up with relief as she accepted his kind offer. She was able to avoid struggling going down the steps with her crutches. I was impressed with Joe's thoughtfulness and I'm sure the student was as well. Verdict: Sentence: Guilty A splendiferous goody bag 8 Calling All Officers! Please note: It may take a few editions for your Case to be published. Perps must be administrators, faculty, M/Ts, or support staff only.
