									About Park Weddings
Parks and gardens provide lovely settings for outdoor weddings. The City of Portland has 180 parks that can be reserved for weddings and/or receptions. While weddings may be scheduled in a picnic site, receptions cannot be scheduled in a wedding garden. City Code requires that a permit be obtained for any wedding in a public park where guests are invited. Please remember that parks belong to everyone, and all are welcome to enjoy them. Areas cannot be roped off or otherwise isolated from general public access. At most outdoor locations, birdseed and/or bubbles are the only items approved for showering the happy couple after they have taken their vows. Only bubbles are permitted in the Washington Park rose gardens, and rice may not be used in any park site.

Garbage: Please leave your area clean and remove your own garbage and decorations so that the next wedding couple will nd the wedding area ready for their ceremony. Decorations are not allowed in the wedding gardens. Tents, canopies and awnings are not allowed in wedding gardens, however, they may be allowed at other park sites with the park supervisor’s approval. If approved, the Permittee must supply these items. Weddings are not permitted at the Japanese Gardens, Pittock Acres, Portland International Raceway or the municipal golf courses.

Note: Chairs must be at-footed and supplied by the permittee. Wedding gardens may be reserved for your ceremony during one of the following three time periods: •10:00 AM – 12:00 PM •2:00 PM – 4:00 PM •6:00 PM – 8:00 PM The times before, between and after the above hours must remain free for non-event park visitors. The Washington Park Rose Gardens are not available for weddings during Rose Festival and Washington Park Concert Series. Vehicle access, tents, canopies and awnings are prohibited. No food or beverage is allowed unless intended for use by the bride and groom as part of the ceremony.

Wedding permits are issued for the current calendar year only. Reservations are taken beginning the rst business day after the New Year and are processed on a rst-come, rst-served basis. Walk-in customers are given priority. Reservations for receptions at a picnic site can be made at the same time as wedding reservations. General Rules & Information
Alcohol Use: It is unlawful to possess or consume alcoholic beverages of any kind in Portland parks without a permit. Underage consumption of alcohol is not legal at any location. No food or beverage is allowed in our wedding gardens unless the beverage is a part of the wedding ceremony for the bride and groom only. Music & Ampli cation Systems: If you have radios, tape/CD or record players, remember to keep the sound at a level that will not offend other park users. Noise that is only audible within the boundaries of your area is acceptable. Additional restrictions apply at some locations. Only one wedding will be allowed per park per day, except at Washington Park Rose Garden. Washington Park Wedding Gardens
The wedding gardens are located in the heart of beautiful Washington Park at 400 SW Kingston Blvd. Due to their popularity, these sites should be reserved well in advance. Weddings scheduled in our wedding gardens are limited to simple, stand-up wedding ceremonies. Washington Park Gold Medal Garden

Oaks Pioneer Church / Smile Station 455 SE Spokane Street, 503-233-1497 Smile Station, 503-234-3570 Multnomah Arts Center 7688 SW Capitol Highway, 503-823-2787 Located in Multnomah Village, the Center’s 1920s vintage auditorium is an ideal reception area accommodating up to 500 people. Tables, chairs, stage, kitchen, outdoor courtyard with picnic tables, piano, and public address system are available. Sellwood Community Center 1436 SE Spokane Street, 503-823-3195 Ten blocks from Oaks Pioneer Church, this Victorian-style building comfortably accommodates 100 people. Sellwood Community Center has a kitchen, meeting room, upstairs gymnasium and a lobby space with a decorative replace. Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden SE 28th Avenue & Woodstock Blvd., 503-771-8386 Located on the East side of the Eastmoreland Golf Course, this lovely seven-acre garden provides a beautiful setting for weddings and receptions. How to reserve a park for your wedding

If your permit, additional signs and passes have been received in the Customer Service Center 3 working days or more before the scheduled event, you may receive a full refund of all but the Application/Processing Fee. If your permit, additional signs and passes have been received in the Customer Service Center 3 working days or less before the event, you may receive a 50% refund of all but the Application/Processing Fee.

Cancellation & Rescheduling
You may cancel your permit at anytime by contacting the Customer Service Center. Refunds are only issued when the permit and additional signs and passes are returned to the Customer Service Center before the scheduled event date. When these items are received, a refund may be issued under the following guidelines:

We allow you one opportunity to reschedule your event without additional application fees. All Application/Processing fees are non-refundable.

Other Event Locations
Contact each of the following sites individually for information on fees, rules and/or to make rental arrangements: Leach Botanical Garden 6704 SE 122nd Avenue, 503-823-9503 The Manor House at Leach Botanical Gardens features a wedding chapel complete with French doors, heavy beams, a large chandelier, and a piano. The chapel can comfortably accommodate 85 people. Weather permitting, the doors can be opened onto a lawn and formal gardens. Kitchen facilities, serving area, and changing rooms are available. Reservations are for six-hour periods, including setup and cleanup.
