Engagement and Active Involvement Strategy

• The vision for Northamptonshire’s Children and Young People’s Partnership is to empower children and young people to be engaged and actively involved in making decisions and shaping services that affect them. • The strategy is not simply involving children in governance and/or recruitment and selection of staff, but should show how to develop the skills that involvement requires – good communication, confidence, assertiveness etc.

Governors Service

Engagement and Active Involvement Strategy
Six principles: 1. A positive attitude towards all children and young people 2. Be accessible to all children and young people 3. Have appropriate resources for all children and young people 4. Information will enable children and young people to participate 5. Develop our skills to enable children and young people to actively participate and share decision-making 6. Explain to all children and young people what has changed as a result of their involvement
