Rustic Oak PTA News – February 2009
We have a birthday to celebrate this month! Texas PTA th will be celebrating its 100 year from February 26-March 1st in Austin. You and your family are invited to the celebrations at PTA Day @ the Capitol on February 26. For more information on this event, go to the Texas PTA website ( We also would like to join in the celebration and congratulate three students on making it to the State judging round for their Reflection Art entries. Way to go students! If you missed out on the previous contest, you now have another opportunity for your child to show off his talents with the PTA Environmental Awareness Contest. Get your entries in before the deadline date of February 15. At the January PTA General Meeting we had the privilege of seeing a delightful demonstration of how document cameras and projectors are being used in the classroom by teachers and students. The PTA recently purchased these items for classroom use. The PTA Board wishes to extend a hearty thank you for your support of our Fall and upcoming Spring fundraisers. Only through this type of support are we able to make such purchases to benefit the education of students at Rustic. We do not take your support likely or for granted especially during the aftermath of Hurricane IKE. But Rustic Oak’s parents continue to amaze and delight the PTA Board, staff, teachers and students with your generosity. Rustic Oak Parents are AWESOME and we appreciate all you do to make this the best school for our students. Have a great February! Gloria Saunders PTA President 2/3
