leadership positions in the future. Lectures will be held at IGTC Mumbai on Saturday and Sunday (every

interactive lectures, real‐time case studies, management games, simulations, projects and group work.

Study in Germany
The German University of Applied Sciences (FHM) in Bielefeld is offering an English Language full‐
time MBA Course in Management in the SME Sector in co‐operation with IGCC Bangalore Office. On
completion of the course, an internationally recognized degree will be conferred by the University. The
first batch of students will start in March 2012. The first three months of the course is taught in Bangalore
by German & Indian faculty after which the students will continue the course in Bielefeld, Germany.

IGCC Trade Delegation to Tendence 2011 Fair in Frankfurt (26th‐30th August, 2011)
The IGCC is planning to organize a trade delegation to the forthcoming consumer fair Tendence 2011 which

Asia Pacific Conference (APK) in New Delhi in 2012
The 13th Asia‐Pacific Conference of German Business will be held from 1st to 3rd November 2012 in Gurgaon,
New Delhi. The event is organised every 2 1/2 years in different Asian countries.
The main organisers of the APK are the German Chambers of Commerce abroad, The Asia‐Pacific
Committee of German Business (APA) and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, Germany.
(BMWi). The Indo‐German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) will be the local host and the organizer of the
2012 event. Over 700 delegates attended the last APK held in Singapore in 2010. In 2012 the conference will
be completely in English language for the first time. Programme details are being worked out and will be
Removal of the condition of prior approval in the case of existing joint ventures/ technical collaborations
in the same field.
With reference to the erstwhile Press Note 1 of 2005 (Consolidated FDI Policy), which prohibited any
foreign company with an existing joint venture/tie up in India as on January 12, 2005 from setting up its
own company/joint venture in the “same field” of business unless FIPB (Government) approval or No
Objection Certificate (‘NOC’) from the Indian partner is obtained, has been done away with.
Effective from 1st April 2011, the Circular provides a major relaxation in FDI policy; whereby obtaining the
prior approval of the FIPB and receipt of the No Objection Certificate from the existing JV partner is no
longer a prerequisite for investing in the country.

A discussion paper had been released by DIPP last year on the need for review of this condition. There is a
felt need to attract fresh investment and technology inflows into the country, as also to reduce the levels
of State intervention in the commercial sphere. Keeping in view the above, Government has decided to
abolish this condition. It is expected that this measure will promote the competitiveness of India as an
investment destination and be instrumental in attracting higher levels of FDI and technology inflows into
