CIEET 2010
Approved by the Ministry of Education P.R. China. The 15th China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET) will be held in five major metropolitan cities in China (Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, Qingdao and Guangzhou) from March 13 to 28, 2010. I would like to extend our warm welcome to all representatives from the exhibiting institutions! Thanks to the great effort of many individuals, CSCSE has successfully held 14 CIEETs in over 20 major Chinese cities. Recognized as the most influential international education event in China, CIEET also enjoys world-wide acclaim. Whilst meeting the expectations of the exhibiting institutions, the recently concluded CIEET 2009 drew an impressive number of 89,000 visitors preparing for study in overseas countries and regions. CSCSE will concurrently host the 7th Forum on Study Abroad and Diversification of Human Resources Training and sessions of seminars under different sub-themes in Beijing. In these seminars, policymakers, government officials and international education professionals will deliver keynote speeches, providing delegates with different perspective and analysis about key issues on international education. With the rapid development of China's economic and rapid increase in international cooperation and exchange, the number of students going overseas to study has set new records. In 2008, the number of Chinese students studying abroad reached 179,000, of which the number studying abroad at their own expense reached 161,000, accounting for 90% of the total. This fully reflects the huge demand from Chinese students to study abroad. We firmly believe CIEET will continue to actively promote China’s study abroad policy, meet the needs of students going overseas, providing them with the most authoritative, accurate and direct information regarding abroad study, foreign higher education institutions, and related organizations. CIEET will continue to serve as an ideal platform for the promotion of educational exchanges and cooperation, for opening up the unique channels of cooperation between overseas institutions and schools and their counterparts in China. It will also be an excellent opportunity for overseas education institutions to meet face to face with the prospective Chinese students. Look forward to your presence at the 15th CIEET! Yours sincerely,
BAI Zhangde Director General Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange Ministry of Education The People’s Republic of China
