Have fun creating your own unique jewellery with tigertail thread, plated components and beads. You will learn about the components, beads and tools, and some jewellery making techniques and be able to practise your skills making a variety of beaded jewellery items. The theme will be sparkly Christmas jewellery, ideal for yourself or for presents. There will be a small charge for materials. This course is ideal for anyone with an interest in making their own jewellery; no previous knowledge or skills are necessary. What should I be able to do by the end of this course?  Followed simple step-by-step instructions to make a basic loop Followed simple step-by-step instructions to make one or more pairs of earrings Followed simple step-by-step instructions to make a charm style piece of jewellery, ie. bracelet , bag charm, pendant or necklace.   Is this course for me? This course is suitable for learners with an interest in jewellery making. To get the best from this course you should be able to:  follow verbal and written instructions in English/including numerical information  the ability to work with small jewellery parts, such as small beads Learners with arthritic conditions and/or hand and arm mobility problems might find elements of this course difficult. Please bring pen and paper for note taking, your tutor will also be providing some handouts There will be a small charge for the materials, components and beads that you use in class; you are welcome to bring and use your own materials, such as plated components, chain, and a selection of beads. How will I know how well I am doing? During the course your progress will be checked using a variety of techniques which may include: observation, informal quizzes, setting tasks, group discussion, question and answer sessions and tutors will provide feedback.
