SECTION 10800 TOILET AND BATHROOM ACCESSORIES PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 DESCRIPTION A. The Conditions of the Contract and Division 1, General Requirements shall be part of this section. This section specifies manufactured items used in restroom. Items Specified: 1. Grab Bars. 2. Clothes hook, robe or coat. 3. Metal framed mirror. 4. Liquid soap dispenser. 5. Sanitary napkin dispenser. 6. Sanitary napkin disposal. 7. Toilet tissue and paper towel dispenser shall be Owner furnished and Contractor installed.

3. Show working operations of spindle for toilet tissue dispensers. D. Manufacturer's Certificates: 1. Attesting that soap dispensers are fabricated of material that will not be affected by liquid soap or aseptic detergents. 2. Anodized finish as specified.

1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Each product shall meet, as a minimum, the requirements specified, and shall be a standard commercial product of a manufacturer regularly presently manufacturing items of type specified. Each accessory type shall be the same and be made by the same manufacturer. Each accessory shall be assembled to the greatest extent possible before delivery to the site. Include additional features, which are not specifically prohibited by this specification, but which are a part of the manufacturer's standard commercial product.

1.05 PACKAGING AND DELIVERY A. B. Pack accessories individually to protect finish. Deliver accessories to the project only when installation work in rooms is ready to receive them. Deliver inserts and rough-in frames to site at appropriate time for building-in.

4. Nylon Coated Steel: Nylon coating powder formulated for a fluidized bonding process to steel to provide a hard smooth, medium gloss finish, not less than 0.012inch thick, rated as self-extinguishing when tested in accordance with ASTM D635.

2.04 FABRICATION - GENERAL A. B. C. D. E. Welding, AWA D10.4. Grind, dress and finish welded joints to match finish of adjacent surface. Form exposed surfaces from one sheet of stock, free of joints. Provide steel anchors and components required for secure installation. Form flat surfaces without distortion. Keep exposed surfaces free from scratches and dents. Reinforce doors to prevent warp or twist. Isolate aluminum from dissimilar metals and from contact with building materials as required to prevent electrolysis and corrosion. Hot-dip galvanized steel, except stainless steel, anchors and fastening devices. Shop assembled accessories and package with all components, anchors, fittings, fasteners and keys. Provide templates and rough-in measurements as required.

Minimum of 11 gauge thick, approximately 3-inch diameter by 1/2-inch deep, with provisions for not less than three set screws for securing flange to back plate. 2. Insert grab bar through center of the flange and continuously weld perimeter of grab bar flush to back side of flange. Back Plates: 1. Minimum 0.1046-inch thick metal. 2. 2.06 CLOTHES HOOK-ROBE OR COAT A. Fabricate hook units either of chromium plated brass with bright polished finish, or heavy duty cast zamak, with edges and corners rounded smooth to the thickness of the metal, or 1/8-inch minimum radius. Fabricate each unit as a double hook on a single shaft, integral with or permanently fastened to the wall flange, provided with concealed fastenings. Hook shall be lock to a concealed mounting screw with a slotted head set screw. Manufacturer: Bobrick, model no. B-819 or approved equal.

Door: 18-8, type 304, 18 gauge stainless steel with satin finish. Drawn, one-piece, seamless construction. Secured to cabinet with a full length stainless steel piano hinge. Equipped with a stainless steel cable door-swing limiter and two flush tumbler locks keyed like other washroom accessories. Door has no brand name advertising for products dispensed. Coin Mechanism: Impact-resistant ABS with satin finish aluminum pull knobs. Coin mechanism can be converted in the field to any standard coin denomination without having to purchase new coin mechanisms (no-coin, single-coin, or double-coin operation). Each coin box is equipped with tumbler lock that opens with different key than furnished for door locks. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 PREPARATION A. Before starting work notify Architect in writing of any conflicts detrimental to installation or operation of units. Verify with the Architect the exact location of accessories. The mounting height and locations of accessories in handicap accessible toilet rooms and bathrooms shall be located where shown on drawings and comply with the more stringent requirements of ADA and MAAB. Provide solid wood blocking behind all bathroom accessories.

Install accessories plumb and level and securely anchor to substrate. Install accessories in a manner that will permit the accessory to function as designed and allow for servicing as required without hampering or hindering the performance of other devices. Position and install dispensers, and other devices in countertops, clear of drawers, permitting ample clearance below countertop between devices, and ready access for maintenance as needed. Align mirrors, dispensers and other accessories even and level. Install accessories to prevent striking by other moving, items or interference with accessibility.
