What is a Fact?
A fact is something that can be
  proven scientifically, geographically,
  and historically.
Examples:
• Water boils at 212 degrees
  Fahrenheit.
• Canada is in North America.
• George Washington was the first
  president of the United States.
What is an Opinion?
An opinion is something based on
  personal judgment, preference, and
  perception.
Examples:
• Pablo doesn’t speak Spanish well.
• Chocolate ice cream is more
  delicious than vanilla ice cream.
• Drinking water is a good way to
  stay healthy.
Is It a Fact or an Opinion?
1.    Cats are friendly.
2.    Dogs and cats are very intelligent.
