Who is our Assurance of Salvation? “Jesus Christ alone.” 1.] The only One who came to save. - I Timothy 1:15; Luke 19:10 2.] The only One who died to save. - Romans 5:6; I Corinthians 15:3; II Corinthians 5:15 3.] The only One who shed His blood to save. - Hebrews 9:22; I Peter 1:18-19; I John 1:7 4.] The only One sent by God to save. - Acts 4:12 5.] The only Way to heaven. - John 14:6 6.] The only Mediator between God and men. - I Timothy 2:5
I. Why Man Needs Salvation? 1.] Because man is a sinner. - Romans 3:23; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 5:12; Isaiah 64:6 2.] Because as a sinner his penalty is death. - Romans 6:23; John 5:24 a. Physical Death Hebrews 9:27 b. Spiritual Death I Timothy 5:6 c. Eternal Death Revelation 21:8; Revelation 20:15 3.] Because God loves him. - John 3:16; Romans 5:8 II. How Can Man Receive Salvation? 1.] By REPENTANCE - Luke 13:3 2.] By CONFESSING HIS SIN TO GOD - I John 1:9; Isaiah 1:18; John 6:37 3.] By BELIEVING ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. - John 3:16 4.] By RECEIVING THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS SAVIOUR. - John 1:12; Revelation 3:20

When can Salvation be received? 1.] Instantaneously, when one receives Christ as his personal Savior. - John 3:16; John 1:12; Acts 16:31 2.] Salvation can be received now. - 2 Corinthians 6:2; Romans 8:1; John 3:18; Luke 23:43 3.] Salvation is Eternal. - Romans 6:23; John 5:24; John 10:27-29 VI. Where do we base our faith about Salvation? From the BIBLE alone. 1.] Written by holy men moved by God. - II Peter 1:21; II Peter 3:1-2; I Thessalonians 2:13 2.] Inspired word of the Living God. - II Timothy 3:16 3.] The only complete, reliable, and final authority. - Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:5-6; Revelation 22:18-19 VII. What are the blessings which a believer in Jesus Christ can enjoy? 1.] Saved from the wrath of God. - Romans 5:9 2.] He becomes a son of God. - John 1:12 3.] He has eternal Life. - John 3:16 4.] His sins are forgiven. - Ephesians 4:32 5.] He is saved from the condemnation of God. - Romans 8:1; John 3:18 6.] He is baptized by the Holy Spirit. - I Corinthians 12:12-13
III. What is Salvation by Grace? 1.] It is not by good works or by keeping the law. - Galatians 3:10; Romans 10:1-4 2.] It is not the combination of grace and law for these two cannot be combined in salvation. - Romans 11:6; Romans 4:4; Galatians 5:4 3.] It is a gift of God. - Ephesians 2:8, 9; Galatians 2:21; Titus 3:7
The Holy Spirit dwells in him. - Romans 8:9 8.] He is sealed by the Holy Spirit. - Ephesians 1:13 9.] He is led by the Holy Spirit. - Romans 8:14 10.] He becomes an heir of God. - Romans 8:17-18; Galatians 3:29; Galatians 4:7; I Peter 1:4-7 11.] His prayers are answered by God. - I John 5:14; John 15:7; John 14:13-14 12.] He has a home in heaven. - John 14:1-3 13.] In time of death, his spirit will go direct to God. - 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 14.] He will be raptured before the second coming of Jesus Christ. - I Thessalonians 4:13-18 VIII. What are the responsibilities of a believer in Jesus Christ? 1.] He must be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. - Matthew 28:19 a. Repentance -- Acts 2:38 b. Immersion -- Romans 6:3-4 2.] He must read the Bible daily. - I Peter 2:2; Psalms 119:11, 105 3.] Faithful in church activities. - Psalm 122:1; Hebrews 10:25 4.] Faithful in giving his tithes and offerings. - Malachi 3:8-12 5.] Faithful in praying. - I Thessalonians. 5:17; Matthew 26:41; John 14:13; John 15:16 6.] He must be an example to others. - Matthew 5:16 7.] He should immediately confess his sins to God. - Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:9 8.] Faithful in telling others about the Gospel. - Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 1:16; Romans 10:9-10 9.] Faithful to the command of Christ. - John 14:15, 23-24; John 13:34 10.] Faithful in partaking in the Lord’s Supper. - I Corinthians 11:23-29
