Dear parents,

GROUP TIME TOPICS

This month we will be learning about Diwali and St Andrews Day and we will also be
thinking about road safety. You will have received your ‘Ziggy’ books which reinforce the
road safety message. I hope you enjoy sharing these books with your children and
reinforcing the importance of being safe around traffic especially at this time of year when
it is dark so early.

MORRISONS LET’S GROW VOUCHERS

A wee reminder if you have any Morrisons vouchers lying around please hand in soon!
We require to have our order for resources in soon.

TOYS FOR RAGS

Our big yellow bin has arrived and is waiting to be filled with your unwanted clothes,
shoes, belts, bags, bedding etc. Thanks to those of you who have already brought some
items. The bin will sit in the main entrance near the janitor’s office.

ST ANDREWS DAY/ KILTS FOR KIDS

It would be lovely if you would bring your child to nursery wearing something tartan and
with a small donation for Kilts for Kids day on 30th November. Kilts for Kids is a fundraising
day for Scottish children’s charity Children 1st.
GRANDPARENTS’ OPEN DAY

We will have an open day for grandparents on 5 th December when we will have some
Christmas themed activities for you to do with your little ones. Please limit to 2 adults per
child. More details to follow.

TRANSITION TO CROSSHOUSE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Those children who will be moving on to Crosshouse Primary School unfortunately had
their first transition session cancelled last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. This
has been rescheduled for 13thNovember and I have attached a transition calendar for the
rest of this term. We find that the earlier we start visiting the school the more familiar the
children are with it, and the easier they find taking that big step in August!

CHRISTMAS

I have given you advance warning of our planned dates for the nativity play and the
Christmas parties (with VIP Guest Mr. S. Claus) in case you need to book time off work etc.
Crosshouse primary school is having the church service at 11am on the same day as our
party so could any parent who wishes to come here to see their child getting their Santa
present and then take their child to the church please inform us and we will arrange the
order of gifts accordingly. (This only affects parents who have children at Crosshouse
Primary and Crosshouse Nursery Schools.)

If you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to contact me or any member of
staff at any time.

Kind regards

Tina Gaitens
