					Terrific Ticket Tarriffs!
The Ticket Office is propbably one of the busiest areas within the Club. The staff have to deal with people from all over the world and have to have good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills to work there. Recently some of the Reduc@te staff were asked if they would lend a hand while the Ticket Office were short staffed. Afterwards we made this activity to test if any of the boys and girls who come to Reduc@te may one day end up working at the Ticket Office, Good Luck! If Reduc@te has 26 and the ticket office have twice as many, how many staff would there be in the ticket office? 2) If the staff from the ticket office were paid only the minimum wages of £4 per hour and they worked eight hours a day, how much money would they get per day? 3) The Reduc@te staff were paid £36 for eight hours, how much money were they paid per hour? 4) Overall the ticket office staff were paid £160 for 5 days work, while the Reduc@te staff were paid £180. How much more did the Reduc@te staff get? 5) While working in the ticket office, the Reduc@te staff were allowed to buy tickets for the Spurs game. If the tickets cost £27 and you wanted two tickets, how much would you have to pay? 6) Sometimes tickets get sold on the 'black market' for lots of money. If tickets for the Blackburn game should have cost £23 but were being sold for £31, how much extra would you have had to pay? 7) If Louise bought 2 tickets for the Arsenal which cost £27, 1 ticket which cost £23 and 1 ticket which cost £29, how much would she have paid? 8) People often phone the ticket office with enquiries about adult and child tickets. Recently some of the Reduc@te staff were asked if they would lend a hand while the Ticket Office were short staffed. Afterwards we made this activity to test if any of the boys and girls who come to Reduc@te may one day end up working at the Ticket Office, Good Luck! For this activity we are going to test your ICT skills to the limit. You will need to use Microsoft Excel's many tools as well as the Ticket Office section of LFC's website. To use the website, click on the hyperlink below which will take you to the section you need. LFC Ticket Office Website 1) The Ticket Office staff have to know about the stadium and surrounding area. Using the 'Anfield stadium' part of the webpage, find the name of the road which runs behind the Kop Grandstand. Type your answer in the red box. 2) Many of the staff like to have a picture of the stadium which they can then look at if they need it. Copy the picture of the Anfield Stadium you have just looked at into the box next to this one. Once you have made it fit, type done in the red box. 3) The staff have to know where all of the turnstile entrances are. From the diagram on the website, how many turnstile entrances can you see? 4) To make the system easier the staff colour code their diagrams. Change the box next to this one so that it is a different colour. Then type done in the red box. Help is at hand (if you need it!) Click on the hyperlink. Now click on the words 'Anfield Stadium'. Find the Kop Grandstand and the ### name of the road. Then click back. Now type in the name of the road and see if you are right… Get back to the picture of the 'Anfield Stadium' by following the first two instructions above. Click on the picture with the right button on the mouse and click ### on 'copy'. Then click back. Click in the square and click with the right mouse buttonand click 'paste'. Then resize it so it fits the box. Click on the hyperlink and the words 'Anfield ### Stadium'. Now count the number of letters around the stadium and type the answer in the red box… Click in the box to be changed. Then move your mouse so that it is by the picture of the paint can ### (near the top on the right). Click on the little arrow next to the paint can and choose a colour…

5) The Reduc@te staff had to learn the ticket office number so that they could pass it on to those who needed it. Using the general information page find out what the credit card line number is and type it with no spaces into the red box. 6) The ticket office staff have to print off each of the 45,000 tickets for each match as they are sold. Each ticket has to have the LFC badge on it. Can you insert the badge from our files and then type done in the red box. 7) Using the first day of sales page, Keith found out that Liverpool are playing at Anfield on his birthday, the 21st of February. Can you type in the red box the name of the team Liverpool will play? 8) The ticket office deals with people from all over the world. To make it easy all prices are in pounds. Can you change the amount in the next box so it has the £ sign. Then type done in the red box 9) As things often change in the ticket office, any changes they make on the computer have to be saved. Save your work in your schools folder. Once you have done this type done in the red box. 10) Ticket office staff are told that they have to put their names on everything they do so that the Managers can see how hard they have been working. Find your schools folder on the f;drive (your study supporter will help you find it). Then give the file a name and click save. Go to the bottom of the page until you find the blue ### letter A. Click on the letter and choose a style. Click on ok. Then type your name in the box and click ok. 0
